Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

My Vivitar Series 1 24-70 manual focus ais lens won't work on program in my Nikon FA. I bought both new, but have stored them for a long time. It works on aperture priority, shutter priority, and manual, just not in program. All my other lenses do, including other Vivitar lenses, so it must be the lens. Fresh batteries in the camera. I get the FEE message, which means the lens is not set on the smallest aperture, but it IS set on the smallest aperture. I have tried dismounting and remounti

Answers :

You are correct - the lense should work with the Nikon FA!
\015\012It sounds like there is a communication problem, and the lense is in need of repair.
\015\012Your local camera shop should be able to take care of it. The repair should be less than $50USD.
\015\012
\015\012\015\012As long as the aperture ring is set to its minimum aperture, you should not get the FEE error. That little lock tab does not need to be in the locked position, which is for preventing the aperture ring from slipping out of its minimum setting. \015\012The next thing I would try is to clean the electronic contacts around the lens mount, on both the body and the lenses. Make sure that you have a good metal-to-metal electronic contact.
\015\012
\015\012Finally - If the lens has an aperture ring, i.e., it is not a G lens, it must be set to the minimum so that you can control the aperture, in its entire range, from the body.
\015\012\015\012For example, if you have a 50mm/f1.4 AF-D lens and its aperture range is from f1.4 to f16, if you lock it to f16, you can then control the aperture from the body to anywhere between f1.4 and f16, inclusive. \015\012If you set the aperture to f5.6, there will be no way it can close down to below f5.6, and the range you could control from the body would have been limited to from f1.4 to f5.6. That is why the body displays FEE to inform you that you are doing something wrong. The Minimum range of the FA is 25mm. You are trying a lense with a lower value of 24mm. Set it on 25mm or above and see if the camera recognizes it.

Make sure the aperture ring is set to the "A" position. If the lens doesn't have an auto aperture setting then I don't think the lens will work. \015\012\015\012There is a setting called "Using Aperture Ring" that you can setup using the menu and c ... Pentax *ist DL (W/18-55 LENS) Digital Camera

Exposure problem Hi,i'm using EOS 1dMK2 for 5 months now & i've noticed the same problem i've had using D60,1D wich is when i set the camera to top ISO speed & high speed continous shooting almost every second shot is underexposed for 1 stop, stangely this only happens indoor under tungsten or flourescent light.I've also tried to:set custom white ballance, shoot raw ,change lenses, set manual exposure & aperture. Has anyone else noticed this ? P.S. Parameters for both pictures are 1/250sec, f4 ,

If you set your meter based on the white (or substantially white) wall, as per the attachment, I would expect the image to be underexposed. ... Canon EOS-1D Mark II Digital Camera

I have a nikon d200. The last time I used it (only a few days ago) it was fine, everything normal. Then yesterday I pull out out of the case and everything seems to be going wrong. It is metering INSANELY low, like a shutter speed of 100 in full daylight produces a REALLY dark image. It won't auto focus at all, and i am unable to change the fstop in manual or aperture priority modes. I tried to restore it to factory settings and the lcd screen flashed to indicate it had been restored but no luck

Overexposure problem I am using a Canon Rebel and have it set for RAW, 100ISO, and am deliberately Underexposing by 1 stop, but I am still getting Overexposed images. External Flash I set my Epson 3100z camera to manual mode and set up the camera for external flash. I manually set the shutter speed to 1/60 sec and the aperture to F4. I also set my SunPak flash to F4. My exposures seem pretty good. However when I review the various photo info's, the aperture reading is F5 or F4.8 not the F4 I set. Why is this? Anyone experienced this? The shutter speed are also not always what I set on the camera.

I have had a vivitar camera in the past and have just borrowed one and the same thing happened to both. The Battery ran out and now the lense is stuck out and with new batteries the screen only flashes on for a second then goes off and nothing happens to the lense! This needs fixing because is not mine and needs to be looked into as it is obvioulsy a problem with vivitars in general!

Forgets settings My optio s40 worked well until just after the warranty expired. Then it started acting up. It maintains the default settings in auto mode. It allows me to change them, but when I shut it off and power up again, it has returned to the default settings. In Pict mode, it maintains EV +1, AWB as flourescent lighting and image size as one higher than the smallest size. Again, I can change the settings, but when I shut it off and power up again, these are the settings it has. Any idea

I'm using a Nikon D3100 with a 55-200mm lens, and I'm trying to set my aperture around 1.8 to shoot bokeh, but it won't let me set it lower then 4. I had a 18-55mm lens on earlier, and it wouldn't let me set it lower then 5. My ISO is at 100. Any idea how to set it lower?

You can't set the aperture any lower than the maximum aperture of the lens. This is engraved on the lens. It may say something like f4-6.3 or something similar meaning that f4 is the largest opening of that particular lens. If you find a 55-200mm len ... Nikon D3000 Digital Camera

There is NOT a problem. The f3.5-5.6 indicates the maximum aperture in the zoom range. At 18mm the maximum aperture is f3.5, at 105mm it's f5.6. The minimum aperture ranges from f22 to f38.\012\012\012So, at 18mm, the aperture can range f ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens
