Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

I own a Panasonic Model No. PV-GS31. I bought the camera for my IMac. I resently bought a Mac Book and it does not have a Fier wire port. How can I transfer video to my mac book using the USB Port (like I do for Photos)?

Answers :

\015\012USB = Pictures Only
Fier wire = Video

You will need to buy a new cord or borrow one. On the other hand, this is a good time to buy a LaCie external hard drive if you want one, because they come with a 4 to 6 pin fire wire cord.

\015\012The easiest thing to do is to just simply buy a fire wire cable.
\015\012There are only two options now:
\015\0121. Either Buy a Fier Wire (6 pin to 4 pin) cable
\015\0122. Else import into Windows in (raw) AVI format and get it into iMovie on the Mac (through an external hard disk). IMovie doesn't complain while importing AVI files for editing. [EDIT: iMovie does seem to do "something" while importing .avi but shows nothing after!!! :( A better option seems to be to convert from avi to mov using ffmpeg]
\015\012So either buy yourself a new 6p to 4p cable. Or a Belkin USB DVD Creator for $90.

I'd say a cable is cheaper ;)

\015\012USB is too slow for video, and USB2 hasn't hit camcorders yet.

The buttons on my 4 month old Nikon S8000 don't work. I can take a photo but can't zoom in, I can't view the photos, can't record a video, can't turn on the flash (or any of the other setting on the rotating wheel), can't go to menu, scene selector or delete a photo (which doesn't matter as I can't view the photos anyway!). The shop I bought it from is 130 miles away as I've moved away and no other camera shops are near here, so if possible I'd like to solve this without having it sent away! Tha

I've got a Fujifilm F30. Since yesterday, its not working properly. When I take photos, it 'absorbs' too much light and indoor photos becomes really bright and outdoor photos becomes nearly white from brightness. And when I transfer the pictures to computer, it has minor lines accross the picture. The video mode seems to be unaffected. What is the problem and is it worth fixing ? Would like to fix it if I can as F30 is still considered one of the best compact camera Fuji has ever made ! Thanks.

Hi Yuri. Turn the camera on and go into the menu and find the reset. Reset it. This will take you back to original factory settings. Then try it out. If it is fixed great. If not take it to your local camera shop that does repairs. J. ... Fuji FinePix F30 Digital Camera
