\015 When taking a photograph with the flash it comes out dark although the flash has gone off and when looking through the view finder it is quite bright is their something switched off I have misplaced the instuction book in a recent move \015\012Best Regards John\015
Digital cameras step down the aperature when you have the flash on in anticipation of the flash brightening the surroundings. WHat they don't advertise is that the built in flashes with the new compact digitals are only effective out to about 6 feet. If you are taking pictures at concerts or sunsets do not use the flash. If you are taking pictures of people close up make sure that you have set your scene/mode dial or menu to the appropriate setting. If you provide tha make and model of your digital ca,era I can likely link you to a copy of your owners manual. You can also increase your ISO setting (higher number) to increase the sensitivity of your camera in low light settings.

Hi, I have a Canon 20D and a Sppedlite 550EX (I use for almost every shot). My problem is that 80-90% of my photos always return back from the printers too dark. I know this sounds like a printing issue, however I have tried 4 different printers and still have the same problem. I have tried up'ing my exposure both on my camera and flash, but this just overexposes parts of the photo too much. My histogram also looks relatively correct on these shots. I appreciate that photos will be taken too dar

Hi.my daughter's Panasonic DMC-FZ7 has gone dark through the view-finder, and all the photos and videos that she tries to shoot are likewise totally black. While photographing yesterday, she paused to gently clean the lens. All photos since then have been black. The camera records taking a photo but shows a black screen on play-back.Changing to a fresh battery makes no difference, neither does using a flash. Can you give any guidance about what is likely to be the problem, and what we should do

I have a Canon EOS 40D camera. We are having problems with using an external flash. The pictures always come out extremely dark with the external flash. A huge possibility, without actually seeing the picture is that it's a shadow caused by the lens hood. The internal flash units are "generally" good for up to about 80mm then the focal length of the lens starts getting in the flash burst, add a hood ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens
