Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

Small round dot, upper right corner of all pictures. Same place, same size. Cleaned all lens. Nikon D80 with Sigma 28-200 lens

Answers :

If this dot is fuzzy, then you will need to have the camera sensor cleaned. If the dot is in focus, then you may have one or more dead pixels on your sensor.

You can purchase sensor cleaning kits at better camera stores and on line. Be prepared to spend 60 to 100 dollars for the kit.

You can also take the D80 into an authorized nikon repair center for cleaning or service.

I have a Nikon D80 with a 18-135mm lens. I recently got an F-- where the aperture should appear. The error message in the manual says that "No lens attached." I tried detaching and reattaching the lens numerous times. I also tried cleaning the contacts to no avail. The only mode that the shutter will release in is the Manual mode. While in the M mode I couldn't adjust the aperture.

Nikon D80 with a Sigma Lens (80 to 200 I think). In manual mode, often shutter won't release - this was a close up of a hummingbird with a fast shutter speed. Internal light meter showed underexposed, but the background was dark green. Initially, the shutter released, but later would not operate either with a remote, or by manually depressed the shutter release button. Switching back to auto, the camera seemed to work fine, but in this mode could not get the desired shutter speed. In full manual

Poor focus I am using the Nikon d80 with a Sigma 24-70 mm lens. I am not satisfied with the crispness of the photos. I have tried shutter speeds of 1/500 and higher, using a tripod, and using shutter delay to get better clarity and sharp focus, but none has worked. The quality is not as good as my 2 meg Sony! Is this to be expected from the 10 meg cameras? thanks! [email protected]

Are you using a DX lens. Do you know if you have the camera's auto focus set to AF (auto focus) or M (manual)? There are many things that effect the focus and as an added note, any shots over 1/60 shutter speed in normal light should be in focus wi ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

I have a Canon 40D and tried to use my Sigma 28-300 1:3.5-6.3 DL Hyperzoom lens on it but the camera kept telling me that it could not communicate with the lens and that I should clean the lens contacts. I cleaned the contacts several times (which were not dirty) but still got the same results. The lens is 5 or so years old, is it possible that the lens is not compatible with the 40D?

It could be that the lens, being so old, needs a firmware update. Go to http://www.sigmaphoto.com/service-support for a service form and instructions. ... Digital Cameras

I own a Nikon D50 and the 55-200 lens will not autofocus (lens continually extends then retracts but never locks into focus). Ive read that depressing the lens release button whilst holding the lens in place and swivelling the lens a couple of times sometimes works (cleans muck off the sensors).
