I have two cameras here that both have problems with the film advance lever, shutter release button and the self-timer. (Phenix DC303N - loose advance lever, and Vivitar V3800N - jammed advance lever) Firstly I would like to know if these problems are linked together!? Secondly would I be able to fix these on my own if you told me how!? Please help! Theyre for a school and i would really like to get these working again :) Hannah Suchy

Nikon FM: Shutter release button will not allow me to take another photo and I'm only on frame 15 of a roll of 24. The film advance lever does not move the film, but it does open all the way to the right & shows the lights on inside (so the battery is OK). I changed the battery just in case, but that didn't solve the problem. I'm wondering if the film somehow came undone inside.

The FM is a mechanical camera, the batteries only power the metering system. Sometimes what happens is when you buy film say in 4 roll packages, they give you 3 24 exps and a 12 exp. I suggest that you rewind the roll and check this. You will only ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Your only fix for this is to replace the camera. The faults you describe indicate a main circuit board failure and it's simply not economic to repair. The spare boards are long discontinued (the camera is nearly thirty years old) and you c ... Digital Cameras

Everything seems to function well, actually, I've never used this camera. Got if off of ebay, so maybe I was gypped. Anyways, the film advance lever seems to be stuck. It only goes half way. I can put film in, and take it out. I haven't gotten batteries for it yet. If it helps, the frame count is on 's'. So, my only problem is the film advance lever. Is it broken....?!?????!??!

If the lever won't advance even when there is no film in the camera, then I would say there is a problem. (p.s. You haven't told us the make and model) ... Digital Cameras

Canon Squeal I recently bought a Canon A1 35mm film camera off eBay. The outside is in amazing condition but the seller did not use the camera for a very long time so it had not been lubricated. I put a new battery in it and pressed the shutter release button and heard a squeal and the shutter was staying open way too long. I'm not experienced enough to trust lubricating it myself and wanted to know if you did this in your store and if you could give me an estimate on how much it would cost. I'm

This is common on the A series Canon cameras. It's a flywheel governor on the side of the mirror box that needs to be lubricated. We do that for $48. Let us know if we can help.\015\012\015\012Crystal Camera Repair\015\012Ashevil ... Digital Cameras

I have a nikon f65 camera and can't figure out how to put the film in it. I am used to using manual cameras with the film advance lever.

Just put the film cassette in as you did in your manual camera, pull the leader over toward the takeup spool, just to the red mark - no further. Then close the back and it'll wind automatically. If it doesn't, turn the power switch on-off-on. ... Nikon Digital Cameras

I own a Canon GL2 Video Camcorder. While in the Camera Position, it appears on the view screen two horizontal white lines, one on top (1/4" from the top) and the other on the bottom of the screen about 1/4" from the bottom. Even though it does not affect the end result. It makes it very difficult to film as the lines don't allow me to center (align properly) the subject I want to film. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to provide.
