What setting to use while using A PENTAX K100D WITH A ZOOM LEN while shooting indoor sports pics

Answers :

Settings, set a fast ISO speed. More or less the "film speed" . A higher ISo will allow you to use your Zoom lens better.
Get the aperature as open as you can. This is the "f stop". If you can push it open to a lower number that will help you get more light to your image.
I would recommend a trial run. Before you are at the sports event, if you can practice a bit and try a few settings. Try some "bracketing". Where you maybe take 3 pictures one over-exposed, one normal and one under-exposed of the same image at the same time. Check your owners' manual to see if your model accomodates for this option.
If you are using the zoom feature, know that your flash will only work from most likely 3 to 12 feet...after that, it's effect is limited.
Tlthough there is an automatic sports setting on the left wheel (see the runner icon)...
\015\012You can set the ISO speed to 3200 and do not use the flash (set flash to "Manual".
\015\012You maigh use the telephoto lens at 80mm, or so.
\015\012
\015\012This works great!
\015\012
\015\012or use the programmed auto for sports (the runner icon)..
\015\012
\015\012Hope this helps!

All of a sudden every picture I take with the 55-200 zoom lens is blurry and slightly out of focus. Pictures with the 18-55 lens are still sharp. I have been using that 55-200 lens for years for sports shots, and have never had any problem. I get the same blurriness shooting in both the auto sports setting and in shutter priority. It is a brand new issue. Could it be the AF servos starting to go in the lens, or am I doing something stupid?

Simplest answer is that you may have accidentally flipped the focus switch (A/M) on the lens to M. This turns off autofocus for that lens (which you might need to do if autofocus just can't resolve the image). Try turning it back to A.Ano ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

I.m a beginner of photography. I have a Pentax Kx and a brand new shiny DA Limited lens - 35mm 2.8 macro. I tried to take some macro shots but it couldn't even find the focus but when I use it as a normal lens, it's ok but I can't see much difference with a point and shoot. I need to develop a technically critical eye. I need an expert to help me with this lens on a regular basis. Anyone interested? And how do you charge?

You will need to start by understanding the need of the shutter speed and the aperture settings. The image you pictured must be taken in such a manner to get the impact on the memory.\015\012This will require a lot of logic by con ... Digital Cameras

EOS 450D/18-55 IS, problems with AF Hi all. I am using a Canon EOS 450D, 2 years, with standard 18-55 IS lens kit. Yeasterday a friend shoot a lot of fotos indoor, with the incorp flash, once outside I could not shot anymore because the autofocus was not working well only the manual mode was working. I noticed that after having taken one picture close in manual mode, the AF was functioning for subjects further away but if I shot closer subjects it was somehow blocked. I tried abother lens and

I have a canon rebel xsi, with a 75-300mm zoom lens. And I'm taking lousy sports pics, indoors and out. Help!!!

Used Vivitar 70-200 zoom on my K200 Pentax. Nothing but aggravation since. Right now the 18-55 lens it came with is on but shutter button is stuck in down position and my flash wont pop up using the manual "up" button. When I look thru lens and push button, flashing "F" is the only thing there. Removed lens and button would move enough to "click" but would not come up. Put lens back on and nothing! I was using my Nikon D40 at son's baseball game with the 55-200 mm lens & was too close to the fence when zooming since it tapped the fence. Now it makes a squeaky noise when trying to auto focus. Just purchased a canon A590. on page 84 of user guide, continuous shooting is described. I'm somewhat familiar with SD cards, but Canon implies that I have to use their MSH type SD card to use the continuous shooting feature. When I look at the drive modes in my camera, I only see 4 possible modes....single pic, 10 sec delay, 2 second delay, and delay continuous. There is an icon for continuous shooting in the book, but it does not appear on my camera. Why?

I don't own an A590 but I've been handling cameras since the Kodak Instamatic days, so I'll try to help you. I checked out the Canon website for the A590. and they don't specifically state the MSH type SD card. The camera can do 1.4 fps or frames p ... Canon Digital Cameras
