Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

Card Error I have an Optimus 8.0 camera with a Kodak 2 gb memory card. I took many pictures on the card, and viewed but never download the pics...I went to take another picture and got a card error... Acts like all pictures are gone and card needs to be formatted. Is there any way I can retrieve the pics that were already on the card. I hope I haven't lost all my pictures.

Answers :

Use a card reader to download your pictures to a folder you create on your desktop. Then, format the card in the camera. Next time, don't wait so long to download your pics.
Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for.

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're very inexpensive.

\015\012The reason this occurred is that you likely never formatted the card. The card will work fine in the beginning but eventually will corrupt. AFTER you've recovered the photos, format the card in your camera to prevent this from happening again (dig out that instruction manual to figure out how). Keep in mind formatting will also totally erase your card, so again only do this after you've recovered the photos.
