Here are the specifications for the media card which will function with that camera
\015\012Compatible with CompactFlash™ Cards Type I/II and 512MB / 1GB Microdrive™
make sure the card you are using meets those specifications or it will not function properly in that camera

\015\012here is the quick reference guide for the camera.

You need to go to the Nikon website www.nikon.com
\015\012go to customer service and support and search for your camera model (d100)
\015\012
\015\012The drivers and such that came on the cd with the camera are available for download. There are drivers for mac or windows and various picture utilities.
\015\012
\015\012The manual isn't on that page but should show up farther down the search results. Or try this http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/dslr/D100_en.pdf
\015\012
\015\012The step by step instructions to format your memory card are on page 162 (page 174 of the pdf). Once formatted you should then have access to the card again unless there is a problem with the card. If formatting doesn't fix the card then it should be replaced. Get as big a card as you can find. That way you can take a lot of pictures at high res settings. you can always make them smaller but you can't make them bigger and you usually don't get a second chance to take some pics.
\015\012
\015\012I've had the odd card fail and not be fixed by reformatting. Not that common but it happens.

I have a Pentax K 100 D. I have tried using a Flash Memory card (a Sandisk Ultra 16GB) but without success. The message 'Memory Card Error" is displayed even before I could format it. The card had previously been used to store files from my PC (where it worked perfectly) but the camera could not format it even after I had removed all the files etc by reformatting it in the PC (FAT32). Is there any way I can get to use this flash card in my camera?

Olympus D-435 Our camera has been working fine until last week when we started getting this error message - memory full on a blue screen when we had taken only one photo (and deleted all previous photos). Thinking there was a problem with the memory card, we removed it and used only the camera's internal memory which worked for a short while - allowing us to take 12 shots - but now it will only let us take 1 shot before giving us the error message. Is there anything I can do? Many thanks

Using Sony CD-Rs I continue to get Disc Error messages after a few pictures, and then the pictures already taken are no longer available for download. Loosing many photos this way. Put in a new disc and it works for a while only to do this again. Had some previous problems similar to this with Memorex CD-RWs but it is getting worse and worse. Is this a repairable defect? This is a fairly new camera. Wish I had a memory stick instead of the CD memory!!

Insert another card." Any suggestions how I can reset the camera before I pay to put it in for a service?
