Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

Tokina AT-X PRO 28-80mm 1:2.8 lens has recently developed a problem when mounted on my Nikon D200. The images are way too dark and my only way to obtain usable images is to bracket heavily. This lens has worked flawlessly on film Nikons and, until recently, worked flawlessly on the D200. I am now also having AF problems with the lens. When I attach any of my Nikon brand lenses - no problems. Can you help? I really love this lens.

Answers :

I have this lens also but with a canon mount and loved it to death when i had film. I started to use it on the digital and like your experience it worked well for a while then started to produce faulty registered photos.. too dark and some too light. I discarded it for a while and used another lens an equavalent Canon. But the pull of Tokina love affair was strong , so I sought help from a camera shop. It turns out that there was a problem with the mount plate and so the electronics were not fully in contact.

I am not saying that is the problem with your lens, just that the symptoms sounds like my own experience.

Lens problems I recently purchased a Kodak Z7590. I have only used it a couple times. My daughter set it on the couch (still on). When I sat down beside of it the camera slid down behind the cushion. I didn't notice it till I stood up. Now the lens will not retract. The lens appears to be extended all the way and has a slight tilt to it. When it is turned on it sounds like it is trying to work, same when it's turned off. I tried to twist the lens as it was powering on and off to get it t

We have Nikon Cool Pix 8800 - we have struggled with the camera from day 1 having a long delay between pushing shutter buttom and photo being taken. It seems recently that the problem has gotten so bad that anything other than a still picture is a frustrating moment. We believe we are shooting on automatic. If there isn't a setting that is wrong we are clearly on our way to selling the camera but we don't even feel good about that the way it currently works. Thanks Lynn

Overexposure When I take any pictures, the images are overexposed. Recently while in the USA, the same problem happened and I took it in to a repair shop. They reset it to the "factory" settings and it had been working fine. Now it is happening again, but as I live out of the country, I can't take it to a repair shop. Is there a way for me to reset it myself.

Hi Guys, I am hoping that someone can offer some explaination for the following. I bought a Nikon D7000 in November and it has suddenly started displaying 3 small doughnut shaped marks on my images. I have not removed my Nikon 16-85 lens from the body so I would not have thought that sensor dust was the problem. To eliminate that the problem is on the lens I have now swapped the lens with my telephoto and the problem is still there! I have just sent an email to the company that I purchased from

Appreciation CanadaBruce I was browsing the website since I have a Nikon D80. Considering the fact that Nikon sells this as an amateur camera (meaning not a cheap solution), I suspect their Q&A and test wings are probably getting a lot of flak internally for the problems its users experience intermittently. Besides the F-err with 18-135 lens, I have not experienced other problems yet. I hope and pray to whatever powers there be it stays that way. One way I have tried to get around this problem i

I have a Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 Macro lens working on a Nokon D40X and Nikon D300. For medium to long distances the autofocus does not seem to work with this lens. I think it used to but now I notice that from about 40 feet away the autofocus does not work. The same happens with both cameras. Other lenses work fine so I don't think it is the camera. Is there any history of problems or is it a feature of the lens? thanks, Richard Brand

I'm a new user of the D90 (and digital in general), and on my first major trip with it I had problem with the shutter not working. I would take some images, put the camera down without turning it off and move on to the next spot. At the second stop the camera would not work. I'd turn it off, remove the battery, run the lens in and out and eventually it would work again. The message I got was F--, which said that the lens was not installed properly. However the lens was never removed. What's

Hi, I seem to have a problem with my Finepix Z1 digital camera. When I take a shot it seems to work ok, and the initial review image seems fine as well.
