Why can't you use 8GB memory card in Z710

\015 Have Kodak Easyshare Z710 tried using new Kodak 8gb Memory Card. Get Message "Memory card is unusable (insert new memory card). Is card memory too large??\015

Answers :

I have a kodak z710 camera with a 2 gig card in it. I was wanting to get a 4 gig sdhc and i wasn't sure if the HC would work with this camera. HC stands for high capacity which means it allows the camera to load files on to the card faster. this may be the problem the kodak may not be HC compatable. but as i have said i have a 2 gig and it works fine with that. and i have a friend that has a 4 gig in thiers but once again i don't think it is HC so i would exchange the card if you can for just a regular SD/MMC card or SD card
As with most digital cameras, the manufacturer has not listed a maximum size for the SD card in your camera. The manual, however, only lists storage capacities for 1GB and smaller cards, so I recommend that as the largest for your camera. The 1GB card will handle 458 to 1490 still photos (depending on resolution) or more than one hour of video.
