Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

I just purchased a Power Shot sx200is. I will be taking pictures this evening where most of the subjects are African American. They will be getting awards and the person giving the awards is Irish American and very light skinned. This will take place in a room that is well lit with florescent lighting. In the past I have had success shooting this combination with a Nikon camera using the night snapshot mode. But this is the first time I will be using the Canon. Any tips you can give me.

Answers :

In most cases in this type of venue what you do is take some test pictures. Adjust accordingly a good tip would be lighting make sure the lighting is mostly behind you..

\015\012It hard to tell as I have not seen the venue but it really does not matter the camera in most cases or the people standing in front of it. The issue is the position, lighting, photographer.. I would make sure the camera is set for inside if the venue is inside. If its is outside then I would set it accordingly..
\015\012
\015\012If its dark use flash, If you can see the subject real good threw a output viewfinder then take the shot without flash.. Again white, black, mexican really does not matter in most cases. The issue would be position (how close you are to subjects) Lighting how bright it is in the venue.. Like I said take test shots..

I have a Nikon D-80 with 18-135 kit lens. after 2 years 5 months (and thus out of warranty) very careful use, it displayed ERR and froze. No change of lens, reset etc. made any difference. The place where I bought it said it had to go to Nikon UK for repair (carriage charge GBP20). Estimate for repair is GBP150. Is there a problem with this camera/lens combination that would make it of unsatisfactory quality under the UK Sale of goods act 1979? Thanks in advance

I am shooting portraits with continuous lighting. What setting should I have my camera on? Hello jenmardi,First, the fstop and shutter speed question ... For a lens of 70 mm I would use the manual with shutter speed at least 1/250 or 1/500, then the fstop I would set at 2.8 or just under this, no more than 4. You need as much l ... Nikon D200 Digital Camera with 18-200mm Lens

I was somehow roped into shooting a friend's night wedding this weekend, even though my photography "expertise" is entirely limited to shooting in natural light. I am a total amateur (and my friend knows this - I have told her over and over she's taking a big risk). So anyway, I've rented a flash and bracket and am looking for any/all the cram-style tips you can give me for programming the flash (it's a Nikon speedlight SB-800 on a D70) and the camera for best use. Thanks :)

First, you MUST practice with the flash before you shoot the wedding. If at all possible arrive 2-3 hours before the ceremony with a friend/model to pose for you so you can practice with the settings until you understand what will and will not work. ... Nikon Digital Cameras

This is a mind bender, While doing a shoot using monolights connected to a Nikon D1x I encountered exposure problems. After the lights were metered for the best exposure, I started shooting. The first ten or so shots were fine, and all of a sudden the next ten shots looked like they were 8 stops over, and then it went to looking ok. The first thing I did was switch monolights thinking there was a problem with the flash, this did not resolve the issue. Next I switched camera bodies, still the int

I used different lenses and reset the camera setting to the factory original, but no help. Thank you for solving the problem... Hamid Jakarta, Indonesia

This has nothing to do with the camera, but instead it has to do with the lens you are using. The standard lens you are using has an aperture of f/4.5 which is common across many lenses. If you wish to shoot in low light you need a lower "f-stop". ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

The built-in flash on my nikon d70s does not always fire. sometimes this goes on for quite a few frames before it functions again. and often when it does decide to "wake up" it fires way too hot -- even in TTL. Forced flash will not work in auto. If you are not using 'P' mode you should. In 'P' mode it will flash everytime.\015\012\015\012That said, the many flashes does not sound right. I would call Nikon's tech help line at 1-800-nikonux. ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera
