Lens Error I recently had a problem with my Casio QV-R4... every time I'd turn it on, the lens would retract and I'd get a "LENS ERROR" message on the screen. I talked to customer support and they told me that Installing the new version of their firmware, v1.01 would fix this problem. I've since installed the new firmware version, but I am still receiving the lens error. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Please help!!!
As solutions 1 & 2 indicate, lubing the gears works!! This is a great camera, so I hope all of the QV-R4 owners try this. I may become a maintenance item for the camera.\015\012 \015\012I have a few a ... Casio QV-R4 Digital Camera
Hi Guys, I am hoping that someone can offer some explaination for the following. I bought a Nikon D7000 in November and it has suddenly started displaying 3 small doughnut shaped marks on my images. I have not removed my Nikon 16-85 lens from the body so I would not have thought that sensor dust was the problem. To eliminate that the problem is on the lens I have now swapped the lens with my telephoto and the problem is still there! I have just sent an email to the company that I purchased from

Camera stalling The problems started after using my camera on a windy day at the beach 3weeks ago. After a few days, the lens started getting stuck, and wouldn't come out, or if it did, didn't focus properly. This problem was intermittent. Then, in the past several days, the camera systems stall when I switch it on. The lens comes out and zooms fully. but It will not respond to any of the control buttons. Which part of the camera is the problem? is it fixable? How much is the estimated cost of r

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.
This is quite a well known problem called 'back focusing' there is little that can really be done about it, except if the camera is under warrnty you can send it in and they will do some laser alignment that fixes the problem, it would be worth a cal ... Canon Digital Cameras
Hi, may camera has a problem, when i turn on camera moves in and out.afterwarsd the words turn the power off and on again are displapyed. i have already forwarded my concern to sony service center and told me i should leave may cam for 3 days. and inform me that maybe the problem is the lens and that maybe i should buy another lens for my cam.

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT camera using a 75-300mm telephoto lens. My problem with the lens is that at times it is hard to adjust the focus either manually or automatically with the camera. I hear something rattling around inside the lens and at times the lens will not auto-focus and I have to remove the lens and manually twist it to get it back to some normal operation. Is this fixable or do I need a new lens?
It sounds like the lens has been dropped or knocked and is misaligned in the guides.Repair against new lewns is a difficult one as prices vary. I would perhaps consider replacing it with a used one. Before you do borrow a similar lens from some ... Canon Digital Cameras
Lens error I keep this Elph in a tiny, padded Halliburton case because the last TWO I bought ended up with broken screens. I never had a problem, though lightly used. Last night I recharged the battery and inserted it. Immediately upon power-up, the lens went out and I got a "Lens error, restart camera" error. I turned it on and off about twenty times, left the battery out overnight: same thing. I jiggled the lens with the same result. Canon tech support told me to take the battery out a

GoPro Hero camera. I get a "buzzing" sound on the videos recorded from inside my car. It seems there's some interference with the car electronics, so I've been told (and videos taken with the engine off don't suffer this problem). I've tried to "insulate" the camerea with cooking aluminium sheet, but: 1) I can't cover it entirely, because lens, display and operating buttons must be kept obviously clear; 2) It doesn' solve the problem. Is there any way to solve this problem? Thanks!
The source of the interference is usually the radio signals, so did you try turning off your car radio/music player to see if the problem persists. There are currently no covers that can solve the interference. Your only hope is to suppress the sourc ... GoPro Digital Hero 3 Digital Camera
Lens Problem I have a C-8080 and I like it but I'm not sure if it is working 100%. The lens barrel is sloppy from side to side and clunks slightly when moving it quickly. It has been that way since it was new. It has some issues with auto focus as well. It has a hard time focusing on clouds and soft objects at infinity. I called Olympus when I bought the camera and mentioned the sloppy lens barrel and they told me that that is the way there made. It is slow to focus when going from close objects

There are techniques to minimize the focus lag if you choose to keep the camera (e.g. hyperfocal; pre-focus w/manual focus lock). Its a gr ... Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom Digital Camera
It turns on but won't take a picture when you push the button! I downloaded the pictures on the card because I was told maybe it wouldn't worked due to a full card. It did have 2300+ photos, but only 77 new ones, which downloaded just fine. I deleted the card and tried to take a picture in normal mode, but nothing happened. I bought this camera on ebay for my daughter- it seemed like a good idea at the time. I have the same model (bought new) & have no problems. The ebay camera went through batteries alarmingly fast and when I changed them they were hot. On our 6th day of ownership a message appeared on the screen that said "Lens error, restart camera" We could not restart the camera b/c it wouldn't do anything - it was dead and the lens won't retract. After almost two years, pictures taken with my Nikon D80 are showing a black dot in the middle of the photo. You can't see it in the view finder and it shows up on all the pictures I take regardless of which lens I use. The mirror inside the camera does not have the black dot on it either. Is it a problem with the sensor? How can I get it fixed?

Hi. When I power up my Canon A75 to take a picture, the screen is purple, not black. Is this also a sensor problem? Also when the camera is turned on or off, the lens retraction or extension mechanism makes an odd noise in addition to the normal sound. As far as I know, this camera has not been dropped. Thanks for your help.
The purple screen is also an indication of sensor failure, However, the odd noise could any of a number of things from sand/gunk in the gear mechanism, a damaged tooth on a gear, etc... But still, recommend that you contact Canon to arrange the adv ... Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera
The camera was dropped while the lens was open. The camera now only opens about half an inch out and then shuts on itself. When it shuts it powers down and will not stay on. I am assuming that the motor is the problem, if so is it fixable? How would I fix it? How much would that cost?

I bought a Canon 40D from Amazon--through Ace Digital Photo--in a kit with a 17-85mm lens, presumably new. I replaced it recently with the 50D. Now I learn that the camera, which was never outside my home and has about 100 activations was used--quite a lot of use and significant dust on the sensor. I was cheated, obviously. I can see the dust myself and a camera shop told me the camera was used extensively. Well, I am pretty disappointed. The purchase date was around 08/01/2008 and I still

My Sony 7.2 Cybershot camera recently ran out of battery, so I charged it. Once it was done charging, I put the battery back in. The screen showed up asking me to insert the current date and time, so I did so. Next, the zoom lense went out and in, out and in, and out and in while the screen said "Access". Next, it told me to turn the camera off and on again. Nothing happens when I do so, and I've done it about 10 times to no avail. Is this a fixable problem?
