Capacitors will lose their reserve power if they go bad. Capacitors hold extra voltage and they will tend to dry & crack when getting older. The reserve power will not hold in a faulty capacitor

Just bought a Canon Powershot sx10is. Bought used. worked fine at first. Now when I try to power on the camera the LCD screen quickly flashes white. The camera never turns on. I have tried various types of batteries including alkaline and rechargable. I have also tried replacing the small watch type battery that is in the camera (CR1220) and nothing works. Any Ideas?

When i turn on my camera the lens trys to come out but then it gets stuck and goes back in; the screen says "turn the power off and on again" but when i do the same thing keeps happening over and over. Battery problem This morning I turned on my brand new Nikon Coolpix 5400 and got nothing on the screen. pushed some buttons and still nothing. Went to turn it off and it won't. The lens stays extended and the power light is still on. I don't know if maybe the batteries are so low they can't do anything, but I was under the impression that the camera had an indicator for the batteries really needing to be recharged. The low battery light was on last night, but I haven't seen need to be recharged

Some of these cameras go from "low" to "no" very quickly. The electronics are more sensitive to available voltage than the mechanicals and it doesn't take full voltage to keep an led lit or to retract the lens. But the cpu shuts down. I would have ex ... Nikon Coolpix 5400 Digital Camera

The camera was working fine until I purchased a pack of kodak rechargeable batteries. After a week or so of using them my camera stop coming on when I would press the power button, it would make this beeping noise and the lens wouldn't extend. After continuously pressing the power button I got it to come on but again the lens did not extend and the screen was frozen. Why am I having this problem and how can I fix it?

I have a Canon PC 1309 Digital Camera, which seems to have no power. I tried new batteries - nothing. Inside the camera is a little rechargeable battery - MS614SE. This battery is rated at 3.1v, but it is comatose - just nudges the needle on the voltmeter. My question is: is the rechargeable battery bad, needs to be replaced, or is it something else - the battery is good but is simply not being recharged? Can these batteries be recharged in a Radio Shack recharger?

Hi all, I have an Olympus FE-300 camera. We have had a battery issue ever since we first got it about 2 years ago. Most of the time, when we first hit the power button, the camera doesn't power up. I then pop the battery open and pop it back in and it seems to work. Then after closing it again, it seems to malfunction again. Sometimes it shows a freshly charged battery in the "red". I have bought a replacement battery, but it seems to be same exact result. This is so frustrating, I have f
