Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?
Canon A510 Powershot camera will not stay powered on when I turn it on in picture-review mode. It comes on for a second --> Canon screen flashes on -- and then shuts off.
In picture-taking mode, it seems to be fine. It stays on.
But if I switch to review mode, it turns off.
I've changed the batteries. It was fine last time I used it, last week. I left it plugged into the PC for a few days, if that makes any difference.
These cameras have capacitors built into the circuitry. A capacitor holds a higher voltage so the camera will operate when in use. Some modes in these cameras do need a higher voltage to work. The capacitor for the review mode is weak and will need to be replaced. If you can do this yourself that would be the cheapest way to do it. If not purchasing a new camkera is far cheaper the a repairmans charges to fix yours
I would recommend updating the software/firmware of the camera. The update can be downloaded from the manufacture's website and then transfred to the camera.

My canon rebel xsi was working a month ago. Today I took it out from the case and found it was not reading the card (8gd transand). It had been working fine until last time I used it mid of April. Fujifilm A330 My camera is doing something rather strange; it's always switched on by sliding the front shutter open all the way, and it's ceased turning on when I do that. This camera was working fine, was turned off, and then a day later wouldn't work. The LCD screen on back works only if the Mode Switch is in the review mode (or DOWN), and does not light up under the picture taking mode (or UP) position. Also, while the switch is in the UP position, the ON/OFF power indicator button no longer stays lit. It does, however, stay lit in the Mode Switch in the DOWN position. First problem in three years. I received a canon powershot as a gift last year and am just now really starting to use it. The pictures seem fine, but the it seems like I am frequently requested to put in the date and time (i.e. about every 2nd or 3rd time I turn the camera on). Is there somethign I can do to get the camera to retain the date and time? It is sort of annoying that I can't turn it on and take a picture quickly since it won't let me take one until I have entered the date and time. Also, I don't think it is stamp
