Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?

I accidently deleted ALL of my videos on my sony dcr sr85 i was deleting a certain file but then i deleted all of them

Answers :

It happens to everyone. You delete a picture or accidentally format a \012memory card that should not have been deleted/formatted. Luckily there \012is a way to recover you data if you have not used the drive since losing\012 the data.

To start , download Disc digger from the following link :

This program is freeware but donations to the developer are encouraged to help maintain and improve the program.

After\012 the program has finished downloading , simply unzip it and run it (no \012installation). If you do not have a program to unzip it , CLICK HERE to download winrar.

Make\012 sure that your memory card is connected to your computer either via the\012 camera or preferably via a external card reading unit.

Now , select your memory card from the list when you open the program and then click next.

Now , for accidentally deleted files , select "dig deep"
For a formatted card/drive select "dig deeper"

Now select the file types you would like to recover on the next page and then select next.

The program will now start searching for viable files of the type you selected.

Files\012 that are found are displayed on the left of the window. Once the scan \012completes , select all the files found and click the save pictures \012button.

Now select a file other than the memory card to save the recovered files and select OK.

The\012 files will now be written to your hard drive and can be viewed on the \012location chosen. Unfortunately all meta data and names of files are lost\012 because of the format , but at least the picture can be recovered which\012 is the important part anyways.

If you restored a file which was accidentally deleted , the file name and meta data will be restored.

Feel free to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards

How do I recover deleted / overwritten movie files from our Sony DCR-SR85E? We used the 60GB space available and then saved movie files onto an external pc hard drive which has been lost by a DVD conversion provider we engaged. We have also recorded additional movie files on the same Sony Video Camera Recorder and it is nearing memory capacity. Is there a forensic method available to retrieve our original deleted / overwritten files and what is the best option available? Thank you in advance.
