We have a new olympus camera 1010 and cannot get the camera to use the card to store photos it only wants t use the internal memery help!!

Answers :

This camera takes 16MB -2GB cards. When you insert the card, make sure that it is formatted. Usually when you insert a new card or one that was formatted for a different camera (or a PC), the Olympus 1010 will ask you to either "Clean card" or "format".
\015\012
\015\012Once you have it formatted, the camera automatically defaults to storing pictures on the card. When the card is removed it will start storing back to the internal memory.
\015\012
\015\012You should see an small icon on the bottom right of the camera windows display when you are taking pictures as shown on page 63 of the manual. When the xD card is installed, you should not see this icon.
\015\012
\015\012If you have a faulty xD card or one that is unrecognizable, you should see error messages like those on page 57 of the same manual.
\015\012
\015\012You can always go to the MENU button and click the RESET button to restore the factory default setting. Make sure you remove the xD memory card before resetting your camera. Take one or two pictures without the card and then insert the card and see if the pictures are stored in the xD card now.
