Good Day. I dropped my Nikon Coolpix L16 camera onto a table. Since then when i switch the device on the lens goes out about a quarter and the goes back in and i get a lens error message. I noticed that when the lens goes out it bends to the right(looking from the top) and gets stuck by something. When i pull the lens a little to the left while switching it on everything works fine. A very small metal part came out of the camera. Any ideas? is it repairable?

My Nikon d40x is roughly three years old and the lens has had to have been repaired twice due to it being dropped. Lens is working fine though now. Yesterday i was getting out my car and the camera fell out my bag, the lens still works fine but now the camera is refusing to take more than 1 photo and saying "card is full". Tried my brothers memory card in it and its doing the same although his memory card works fine with his camera (nikon d60). Someone help!

Time for some "tough love"...suggest you buy one of the new Pentax point-and-shoots that are especially made for people who continually drop their cameras. This one can be dropped from 3 feet and still work. Leave the good DSLRs to the rest of us. ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

My Nikon D60 fell and the lens came off. Now the lens no longer holds -- it appears that a piece of plastic has chipped which prevents the lens to click close. Where do you recommend I get it fixed. I bought it at Best Buy -- should I go there, ship to Nikon or find a local store. Is it worth repairing in the first place?

If you are no longer covered by an in-store warranty, whether an extended service or recent sale (typically 30 days) type, going back to Best Buy probably will not help (but asking about it can't hurt). \015\012\015\012Nikon Customer Supp ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens

Lens error. lens comes out than back in turns off than on and goes back in and out than says lens error. this camera is only about 8 months old. i have a feeling if it were to get repaired some else will go wrong. doesn't seem like a reliable product very disappointed in nikon and most likely never will buy their products again.

Nikon 8700 I let someone borrow my camera, and like someone else that posted, I'm getting a lens error when I power it up. Everything physically appears fine, and it turns on, the lens comes out, and I can view photos on the camera, but I cannot shoot a picture. I tried someones suggestion of leaving the batteries out over night, but no change, and I cannot find anyone who knows how to repair this camera local. any help?

My Canon PowerShot SD850 IS has a lens that is stuck in the extended position. I get a screen that says lens error, restart camera, but when I try to connect to the software, I get a screen on the computer telling me the computer cannot detect the camera. Battery is freshly charged, and I get the little yellow bird picture on the camera when I turn it on. It beeps about 4 times, and then turns off. Is there a safe way to get the lens to retract?

I have a Nikon D-80 with 18-135 kit lens. after 2 years 5 months (and thus out of warranty) very careful use, it displayed ERR and froze. No change of lens, reset etc. made any difference. The place where I bought it said it had to go to Nikon UK for repair (carriage charge GBP20). Estimate for repair is GBP150. Is there a problem with this camera/lens combination that would make it of unsatisfactory quality under the UK Sale of goods act 1979? Thanks in advance

I have a Nikon D50 which I frequently interchanges lenses. My AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm lens has 3 plastic retention flanges attaching to the camera body, and two of these have broken off. Can this be repaired without me having to be without the lens for a long time? (Either by me or a local repair service?)

Without seeing pictures, I'd say you could TRY some plastic epoxy or some type of plastic-specific adhesive. i'm assuming you have the pieces that were broken off. otherwise, i'd say get a new lens...they are relatively reasonable used. ...
