Canon 550D wont power up after shooting at the lowest shutter speed

\015 I tried taking a picture at the lowest shutter speed ("8) when the screen and view finder turned black (which is normal when taking a picture because of the closing of film gate), but it stayed on for quite a while. \012I got anxious while waiting so I restarted my dslr (**** my auto-reflexes) by switching it off and on. It made things worst because the film gate is still tightly shut and my dslr wont power up! \012I tried rebooting my camera, changing the battery, as well delicately opening the film gate from the inside (it just wont open up or maybe I did it too delicately? I dont want to spoil it), but my dslr still fail to power up!!\012I had my camera for around 1.5 years so warranty is expired.\012Somebody please help! Save my baby T.T\015

Using my Canon XSi/450D, I'm interested in doing High Dynamic Range photography. But I can't discover how to make the automated shutter-speed range multi-shot (3 for the 450D) AEB work. I've gone into the menu and select and change the AEB range ( -2V) and pressed "set." Working from the "AV" in creative mode, I then set up my first shot with focus and ISO, and shoot. Now what? When I press the shoot button, an ordinary photo is captured, and if I continue to press the button additional cap

Hi, I have a two year old Canon PowerShot SX1. Recently began to think my shutter speeds have been on the low side, based on ISO, aperture, and general lighting conditions outside. Went out and purchased a Canon PowerShot SX130 just to compare. Took about 25 shots with each, same subjects each time, same settings, same position, about 15 seconds apart. Discovered that, on average, the SX130's shutter speeds were over 3 times higher than the SX1 for proper exposures. For instance, at ISO 100

Pictures a very overexposed. Inside I can shoot without a flash at 400 ISO and they come out right. Outside they turn white. Also the shutter speed won't register. I can set it at 125 or even 500 and it comes out at about 1/30 or 1/60 of a second. Lower shutter speeds are actually lower. This happened a day after I cleaned my sensor. The shutter speed priority setting on my Canon 40D keeps jumping to a different speed that I haven't set. E.g - set at 200, jumps to 25 when I go to take a photo. I have spoken to Canon regarding the problem and they have suggested that I clear the user settings. This initially solved the problem for all of an hour, but the problem has now started up again. I'll probably be sending it in, as I think it might be a problem with the hardware, just thought I'd check here first. Any suggestio

A Canon A570IS will power on and and everything works with external power (3.5-3.7V, 2A. 3rd party) but is dead with batteries (two fresh alkaline or NIMH AAs). Again, lens, flash, storage, LCD, etc. work with external power, but not with batteries. I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

Since the external power works, we need to know, first off, if the battery terminals have continuity with the external power supply contacts. That will tell us an important part of this puzzle. The one hard thing about this problem, is that what ... Canon PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera
