I have continuously had battery problems with my Nikon CoolPix L18; after shipping back to Nikon I was informed that there was not a problem. I have since purchased another L18 for my Mom thinking that it could not be a manufacturer problem - however, now we have two cameras that will not hold a battery charge for more than a few pics - literally I had less than an hour of pics on my camera. My Mom & I, are both unhappy with our cameras - any suggestions of the recommended batteries to use for t

I take a few shots and get the Error message 30 on my 50D- Always need to shut it off and then back on. Since I did soe net surfing, and since the camera makes a clear noise whn it goes into error mode, I am thinking it is surely a shutter problem. Anyone there confirm that it is a shutter problem? Note I was using a Sigma Lens at the time, so the little boys at my local shop are saying it is "not" the camera...of course it is still in warranty. I am looking for any HELP or ADVICE! Tony C

I have a D80 since 2 years and since last 1 week have been getting the 'Err' message. Initially, after referring to the manual & pressing the shutter release button, the camera responded only ONCE. i.e. the 'Err' message disappeared and the pics were SEEN on the screen (which means the shutter was working). Now, even that has stopped. I'm not able to click any pictures (although the mirror moves) and certain specific menus & other buttons on the body dont work. Now on pressing the shutter re

I dropped my camera and since then I can take photos, the camera focuses, my display is fine when viewing previously shot images and the normal display information but when the shutter is pressed all o see is black. I don't know if the images are being taken or if they aren't. I tried taking of the lense and pressing the shutter and a black box with a **** of light shows. With the lense on nothing but black shows. Is this issue with the lense or body? Any feedback is appreciated.

I have a Canon IXUS 800, the shutter won't open properly, just opens about a millimetre. I don't want to break it as otherwise it is an excellent camera. I think it might have some dust in the shutter mechanism as we are using it to photograph an old farm we are renovating which is often a bit dusty even though we take care to put the camera into its cover after use. I have a Nikon D40X camera with two lenses - one is 18-55 and the other is 55-200. Unfortunately, when I was at a wedding rehearsal, my 55-200 lens dropped off the pew on to the ground. It was not on the camera at the time and it has not worked properly ever since. My camera works properly with the 18-55 lens. Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Essentially, the camera can still focus, in and out, but when I try and push the button down, to take a picture, it just continues to refocus

Continuous shooting I'm new to this so bare with me. I just got my Nikon D60 and I want to shoot pictures in continuous mode. I set it on manual, go into the menu and change it to continuous. I rotate the dial so it changes the shutter speed but when I take pictures it's just a black screen. As a matter of fact any time I try to take a picture in M it's just black. I'm hoping that there is just a setting I need to change and there's not something wrong with my camera. Thanks.

Hey man. Im not sure how new you are but basically i think your problem is you need to decrease the shutter speed to around 1/200-1/250 of a second and increase the apeture to around f10/12 and see if that works. If your operating at a high shutter s ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens

Have a Sony Alpha DSLR-A300K. Let a friend borrow it and she used USB to download the photos to her computer. Ever since she did that, the camera does not work: specifically, all the buttons don't do anything (shutter button, menu button, playback button, etc). Any ideas out there to try and and get this camera to act like its old self? Thanks! p.s. when I get my pictures off the camera, I just remove the card and insert it into my computer; I don't do the USB method she used.

Sounds like when she disconnected the USB cord, she didn't use the "safely remove hardware" function on her computer. You could try a reset from the menu if you could get into it.
