Have just inherited this digital camcorder. Want to record video onto card rather than tape so bought a new card today. Tried to use for the first time but on pressing the record button I get a red 10 second countdown on the screen and then it beeps and the recording stops. Am able to play back the 10 seconds of footage ok but can't get it to record for any longer. Have gone through the instruction booklet with a fine tooth come and probably missing something really simple - but want to use

Well, you failed to tell us the make and model of the camera so I can only give you a generic answer. New cards must be formatted in the camera. Video requires a fast card so it can keep up. ... Digital Cameras

I have an old Sony Hi8 Handycam model CCD-TR705E. Have not used it for about 4 years and decided to upload tapes to DVD via a DVD recorder. Worked fine for the first 5 hours of film then suddenly picture not visible (sound is fine) but when in review mode (press play then rewind without pressing stop) can see pictures. My g9 was playing video clips very fast. i changed the setting back to "standard" and can record/play new videos correctly; however, the video clip that i previously recorded before i changed the setting back to standard still plays back fast and that is the video i need. any suggestions?

I believe the setting you changed set the RECORD method, not playback. The video is recorded that way. There are some Video software out there that can rerecord a video at a slower pace, but do you want to spend the money? Try Ulead.com for a low cos ... Canon PowerShot G9 Digital Camera

Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. In other words I cannot be shooting in the Auto mode and then switch to "flash off auto"....all that happens is that the auto focus works but the shutter will not operate. If I switch the camera off and on however, I can t

We have a 2005 panasonic mini DV, with 800x, About two years ago we began to have problems playing back the video, the sound was gone and there was blue stripes through the playback video screen, or the screen was a crazy jumble of the image. This camera was working fine, was turned off, and then a day later wouldn't work. The LCD screen on back works only if the Mode Switch is in the review mode (or DOWN), and does not light up under the picture taking mode (or UP) position. Also, while the switch is in the UP position, the ON/OFF power indicator button no longer stays lit. It does, however, stay lit in the Mode Switch in the DOWN position. First problem in three years. Blank screen My Canon Powershot SD600, when in picture taking mode, does not show any images on the screen -- it is dark. However, in video mode and play mode, it is just fine so I know the screen still works. And it can take pictures, I just can't see anything!

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP (Display) button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the screen on and off in picture taking mode to save battery power. You could then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn it b ... Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Camera

I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC27E Camcorder which was working great until a few days ago. my problem is its suddenly not showing my recorded tapes, I was watching footage only a few days ago from my recent holiday, the images were starting to get grey stripes across the screen, thought this was due to a low battery, put in a new one, still no images showing. Put in other prrecorded tapes they are showing nothing as well. Then I tried to record which works fine, but when I played it back its still

My camera doesnt record audio. I record video just fine, but it doesnt play back the auido. :( Also, this is the 3rd vivicam 8400 that I have bought. The other 2 broke when I brought them underwater.

The camera was working fine but I tried to use it over the weekend and now the screen shows an image with a green tint with a lot of vertical red lines about 1 pixel thick. The screen itself is fine because the menus look normal; the abnormal images are recorded onto the card and played back.

I was using my M763 model and taking pictures just fine. Then, I went to take a pic and the LCD was dark. I clicked the review button, nothing happened, so I turned it off and it wouldn't turn back on. When I try to turn it on it flashes green for a nano sec, then red a couple of times, then nothing. When I plug the USB cable into the camera and my computer USB port nothing happens, but earlier I was able to upload pics okay. So what's up?
