Is there any way I can get my camera back to normal! I turned it on and it said "focus error". When I shut it off to see if it would start over correctly it would not close the lens. I turned it on and the lens closed and then opened again and wouldn't focus. I turned it off and the lens won't shut. How weird is that? It obviously is capable of opening and closing but seems to be reversed and makes a funny noise when it can't shut at the right time. Can I wiggle or giggle something? I bo

My camera (a Canon PowerShot SX10IS, if it matters) has this tendency to move in and out of focus when I'm using the video recording feature. For example, I can start the video by filming a stationary object (let's say, a person speaking at a podium a meter or so away) and the video will be in focus. However, even though the person in the video isn't moving except for subtle hand gestures, the camera seems to start to try to focus on something else deeper in the background or closer in the foreg

I have verified my Canon A95 drains batteries by doing an amperage test. Starting with new batteries I install them in the camera and then layer a thin copper wire then piece of paper then copper wire and close the battery door. Touching the wires together closes the circuit and the camera functions. With the wires appart I measure the camera amps. The camera measures 0.6 amps when on and 0.14 amps when off. Doing the same test with my A80 Canon yeilds 0.45 amos when on and zero amps when off. T

Most times, the auto focus does not work (the display and the actual pictures are all blurred). It's not covered by the warranty any more (more than 2 years after we bought it). Any ideas?

I have a Canon Rebel XTi which seems to "lock up" ie will not allow a second picture to be taken after the first when used in "portrait" mode. I was shooting a wedding with it last week and sometimes it would do this and sometimes it was OK. Sometimes it would shoot three or four consequetive pictures. Only turning it off and then back on would start it again. Sometimes even this did not work for more than ten seconds Is this a fault? Why does it only happen sometimes? I'm not sure if it do

My Canon Powereshot 200SX IS does not start properly. Display comes on but the lens stays closed inside and a led blinks. After a while display turns black, a beep comes on and the white text says: there is an error, try to start again. Starting it again brings exactly the same situation. Loosing the battery does not help either. Camera seems not to react to any control buttons. There has not been any any obvious reason for this, no falling onto the ground or any other impact.

Focusing Problem I have a Casio Exilim 10.1 Mega Pixel Digital Camera EX-s10 and I have had it for a little over a year now. Canon EOS Rebel XT with EFS 18-55mm lens. Trouble-free for two years. During a weekend of lots of use, suddenly the camera would not autofocus. Switching to manual focus, the camera worked. Then it started working okay in autofocus. Later that day quit altogether. (Would not release shutter even in manual mode.) Removed the lens and cleaned the contacts on both lens and camera, started working okay but only temporary. Went through several cycles of this over the weekend, so I'm not sure

I have a Canon EOS 1000D, and I've had it for almost 4 years. Recently i started having problems with both my lenses. Autofocus works but through the everything appears blurry when "focuses" and thus I can't use manual focus anymore. I am using Canon 1000D dslr for more than 18months, it was working fine until last Sunday. I went outside and started taking few shots... it was not focusing properly (or should I say not at all!) and pictures are coming blurred. When I press the shutter button half, it should run the motor (in autofocus mode) and focus, but it is not doing anything (i.e. no red dots are coming)... what could be the problem? Thanks for any help.................

The autofocus motor could be be broken, or the lens may not be communicating correctly with the camera. One thing that can help if it's not communicating correctly is to clean the lens contacts. Canon Sx120 IS camera will not zoom closeup from a tripod at 19" set at macro!!! Instructions say the camera cannot focus in the range of the yellow bar, well how do you get away from the yellow bar? There is a noise inside the camera. Kind of like the sound when you focus, but continuous whether or not you are focusing. Just started this morning. Camera has not been dropped or anywhere weird. I have a Canon zoom lens EF-5 18-55mm for my Canon EOS 450D. I am having trouble with my AF. If I set it on AF it will not focus automatically, but if I manually turn the lens for a close up it will then take the picture. Then and only then will the AF for long distance shot come into operation! After taking that shot it reverts back to not focussing. What can I do, if anything, to rectify this malfunction? Lumix tz3 Please turn camera off and then on again" as soon as camera is switched on. I Can view any menu, or read SD card, but cannot take any pictures. If I turn on in a picture taking mode it starts to focus and then the message appears, when I turn it off the lens does not close. If I turn on in playback mode, it works fine, if I turn it off from playback mode, then the lens closes. Basically, any picture taking mode triggers the error message. Solution?

Blurry Images Hi, I have a coolpix 5700 and sometimes when I take pictures with it and later go look at them on the camera's display they start out blurry and then "snap" into focus. However, when I later load them on my computer, they remain blurry.
