Having problems with your Canon Digital Cameras ?

Please help, i have lost a lot of pictures from my camera and i have a horrible feeling i pressed the format button without realising what id done. Are all my pictures lost?

Answers :

Unfortunately, if you formatted the card, yes they are gone. The memory is flash memory, and reformatting erases all information on the card. You might try taking the card out and downloading to your your computer, but it sounds like they won't be there. Always be careful, once you format a card there is no turning back.

I just bought a vivicam 5022. Without doing anything to the camera, I lost a few days worth of pictures on it. It has a 8G memory card in it from the beginining. Without using the built-in memory of the camera, it shows it is full, but it will not let me bring up anything. The message says "no file found". I did not mess with anykind of format. The only thing I have done is to change batteries before they bottomed out and of course the camera was off and memory the card were removed before

Yesterday I downloaded successfully, as usual, my pictures from the camera into the computer. I made 7 more pictures last night. Today, I tried to download them, but the computer had a "non recognizable files" message. I restarted the computer (a Mac OSX), but now it wouldn't even detect the camera! My Sony Cybershot DSC-H50 shows error code C:13:01 when the either of the current memory sticks I am using, is inserted. However, when I take out the memory stick out, and put on the camera, it shows the "internal memory full".But it does not gives any option to format it. The only one button on the panel is working and so the option of formating could not be done. I even tried to connect it to P.C. It shows four pictures.
