My cannon powershot S5IS used to take great pics...now they are almost always very grainy. do i need to fix a setting or something? i have no idea!

Answers :

Please see if the mode forr picture is set to normal, Try to select auto mode and then manual mode to see if there is any change.
\012If you notice that the grains come on in low light, try pictures in good light to confirm. If still bad the camera needs a check for a faulty imager unit./the CCD might be defective.
\012Take an estimate to decide.

I own a Canon EOS Rebel XTi. This camera is unpredictable; i.e., I never know when it will decide not to record an image. I have reset it many times to the manufacturer's default settings, and then it SOMETIMES works, but then for some reason stops recording images. I have started to always carry a second camera (a point & shoot). However I am enrolled in a number of photography classes in the new year where I need an SLR. Is this camera issue serious or something I can fix? Thanks.

Dark pictures I have a Canon EOS REbel T2 with the standard 28-90 lens. It had been working fine, but now my pictures are (almost all) coming out very dark and grainy. Further, I note that if I turn the camera 90 degrees to that a "portrait" picture -- 6" tall and 4" wide, I see a dark rectangle in the picture in the bottom right quadrant. I always set the camera to full program (the green rectangle). I have been using Fuji 400 speed file of late. Do you have any idea what I"m doing wrong?

When I upload photos onto my computer from my memory card, there are always two copies of each photo. One copy seems true to life and the other is slightly saturated and grainy. It's frustrating that I have to go through and delete every other photo, and it of course takes twice the amont of time to upload. Is there a setting or something that I can change on my Canon? The auto setting stopped working - I usually always had it set on Auto, then "Auto" became video (same setting as video setting) for some reason.
