Having problems with your Canon Digital Cameras ?

I'm looking at buying a Canon EOS 400d and wonder if anyont can confirm whether my lens from old Canon EOS 620 film camera body will be compatible. (Unfortunately lens in storage at moment so I can't quote model numbers, but one is Canon 50 mm ultrasonic lens and other is a (I think) sigma 28 to 200 mm)

Answers :

The canon lens should work fine. Some of the Sigma lenses have to be converted by Sigma to work with digital. The last one I sent to them they only charged me $10 for return shipping. You can find their address online.

I have a EOS-650, 35mm film camera(not digital)body. I want to purchase a lens for it. I need to know what model number lens and type will be compatable for this camera body? There are several to choose from but only certain types of lens will work on this type camera body. Some examples are EF type and USM type. I do not want to purchase a lens that I will be over paying for or that will not work on this type of body or is not design for it all together.

My new canon EOS 550D with 18-55 kit lens does not focus properly. It produces consistently out of focus (OOF) or partially OOF in both AF and MF modes. I'm an experienced photographer, and have tried over 1000 test shots with this camera, and not one shot has been satisfactory. Is it a defective model? I'm inclined to return it under warranty. Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

I have a Canon zoom lens EF-5 18-55mm for my Canon EOS 450D. I am having trouble with my AF. If I set it on AF it will not focus automatically, but if I manually turn the lens for a close up it will then take the picture. Then and only then will the AF for long distance shot come into operation! After taking that shot it reverts back to not focussing. What can I do, if anything, to rectify this malfunction? Zoom lens mis-focusing. The lens "wizzes" in and out trying to focus. The lens will eventually "settle-into" focus; but sometimes this takes a number of seconds to accomplish. Also, the lens tends to "slip-out" of focus just as the button is depressed to take the photograph. Only problem seems to be with the lens focusing.

Canon EOS Rebel XT with EFS 18-55mm lens. Trouble-free for two years. During a weekend of lots of use, suddenly the camera would not autofocus. Switching to manual focus, the camera worked.
