The view on the screen is normal when you are framing the photo but after you take the shot the playback of that scene has these grayish horizontal lines and the image color is washed out. When power is turned on the zoom lense moves in and out on its own for a couple of seconds then stops. Camera remains on (battery is charged) The message changes from "access" to "turn the power off and on again." When that is done the same process happens again. Photos can be retrieved that are in the memory to view but the problem is getting to the starting screen in order to take a picture. What's up with that? Hope you can help!

Blank lcd I just got a new canon 600D. After playing with it for a while, i turned it off. Then after 5-10 mins i turned it on once again, and opened the lcd screen, but it shows blank(or say black). I can see that the lcd backlit is workeing, but nothing (no content) is displayed. Can this be an issue of low battery ? pressing the shutter button full also not capturing the picture. Flash works though, and optical view finder too, but it does not capture the photo.

Lcd/viewfinder THe LCD screen looks as if there is a shutter, for lack of a better description, nearly closed. Only a sliver of view is available. It appears that way with both the picture taking and playback mode. The eyepiece looks different than normal, but at least can be used. Photos come out just fine. The same thing happened last week, and then all of a sudden it was OK. Did I mistakenly change a setting? Any suggestions? Thank you!
