Having problems with your Canon Digital Cameras ?
I have a canon rebel xti. Some of my images are soft...not too soft, but a little. If I upgraded to canon 40 D slr, would my pictures be sharper, like around someones eyes, assuming I keep the lens, aperture settings, and shutter speed, and ISO the same?
In other words,is an amateur photog. like myself going to be able to take better pictures with a different camera body...the 40 d vs. the rebel xti?
I have a Rebel XTi and take professional images. It could be that your lens isn't as sharp as it should be or your sharpness settings in the camera are set low.

I have a Canon EOS Rebel (Model # DS6041). It is about 4 years old and just recently, it started taking only the top third of a picture. It sounds like the shutter is also responding quite slowly and the autofocus doesn't seem to work every time. I can't think of any particular event that occurred just prior to it acting like this.
This is caused by a sticky shudder and you will need to have it repaired by a factory authorized repair station, they are the only ones that can get parts and have the technical material to fix the problem, nothing in this camera is consumer re ... I was at a game shooting pictures with my Canon rebel EOS xsi a friend picked up the camera... started shooting pictures and when he handed the camera back the autofocus wasn't working and the shutter would only occasionally close. How do I get back to the original manufacturers settings... I think he may have played with the buttons when he was trying to get the shot... so th setting may be off... I'd like go back to the original setting and try it from there

Hi, I have a two year old Canon PowerShot SX1. Recently began to think my shutter speeds have been on the low side, based on ISO, aperture, and general lighting conditions outside. Went out and purchased a Canon PowerShot SX130 just to compare. Took about 25 shots with each, same subjects each time, same settings, same position, about 15 seconds apart. Discovered that, on average, the SX130's shutter speeds were over 3 times higher than the SX1 for proper exposures. For instance, at ISO 100
You may be right, from the details and data you've provided. Unfortunately, you would probably have to pay a service charge to prove it, and they would most likely replace the main board, and charge accordingly. I, myself, would just adjust to t ... Canon PowerShot SX1 IS Digital Camera

Even with an ISO 100 setting on a bright f16 sunny day and with a fast shutter speed I still get excessive noise? Any ideas? I use a Canon Rebel Xsi
No noise should be present on ISO 100 with that camera. If you are sure noise is produced, not dust or something else, have the camera serviced by Canon, this seems like a defective sensor. ... Canon EOS Rebel XSi Digital Camera
Blurry Images i have recently purchased an Olympus C-700 Ultra Zoom, and i love it...but i need some help. when i'm taking pictures outside, at night, like...let's say at the moon, it's blurry. and when i take pictures, like at a concert, where flash is not allowed, it's also blurry. is there something i can do to change the shutter speed to where it will take crisper, cleaner pictures, or what needs to be done??? also, i just ordered a telephoto lens and a wide angle lens. what are these goo
If there's not enough light your camera can't invent any. Harsh shadows we are trying to take pictures for a friend's small wedding - at the rehearsal today we practiced picture taking with both a Canon Rebel XSI (using both the regular lense and adding a telephoto lense) and a Canon PowerShot S5-IS. The problem is that we are getting a lot of pictures that have a 'hard' shadow on the people in them. It doesn't appear to be a regular shadow because it doesn't 'land' on the different surfaces behind them, but is more like a shadow attached to them. Any
It's your flash. If you diffuse the light from your flash, you will reduce this problem, but not eliminate it entirely. You can diffuse it by putting some moist (so it sticks, and also to make it translucent) thin paper across the flash. ... Canon EOS Rebel XSi Digital Camera
Shutter speed I cannot remember the aperture, but when I try to take a picture of the moon with my FZ20, even @ 2.8 aperture, I certainly do not have 1/100s shutter speed, but more like 1/10 or even less (P mode). I wonder if there is a problem with my camera ? How can I check that it is correct ? Can someone with experience of moon shot give me some "standard" shutter/aperture so I can compare ?
Rule of thumb I read was f11 and then 1/ISO for shutter speed. This means that if you're using ISO 100, you use 1/100. ISO 80, then 1/80. White balance set to SUN (because moon is reflecting sunlight).\015\012\015\012Wait! My camera doesn't do f11!!! ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 Digital Camera
Our camera when you turn it on has a blank screen and you cannot take pictures. You can review pictures and see the different menu modes, but the screen is otherwise black. We have had it repaired once for almost $200 by a Canon repair centre with the exact same problem about 18 months ago. They said it was a shutter issue?? It sounds like it could be a CCD issue? I have written Canon customer service over 2 months ago, suggesting a defect, to which I have received no reply.

Pictures a very overexposed. Inside I can shoot without a flash at 400 ISO and they come out right. Outside they turn white. Also the shutter speed won't register. I can set it at 125 or even 500 and it comes out at about 1/30 or 1/60 of a second. Lower shutter speeds are actually lower. This happened a day after I cleaned my sensor. Could that be the problems?

Dark pictures I have a Canon EOS REbel T2 with the standard 28-90 lens. It had been working fine, but now my pictures are (almost all) coming out very dark and grainy. Further, I note that if I turn the camera 90 degrees to that a "portrait" picture -- 6" tall and 4" wide, I see a dark rectangle in the picture in the bottom right quadrant. I always set the camera to full program (the green rectangle). I have been using Fuji 400 speed file of late. Do you have any idea what I"m doing wrong?
