Nikon CoolPix S500 shows colored lines on lcd and in photos where the lights are bright. I have restored settings tried using it with no flash, soft flash, and auto flash and the problem continues. Noticed the lines on the lcd over a year ago and it has progressed to brightly lit photos also now. In some photos lighter colors also show up with the lines. ie. My daughters blonde hair in the light looks almost transparent with all the lines running through it. Is this a lens problem? Is there

Light Meter When I am in manual mode, my light meter seems to be off, especially when I am in the sun. When I adjust the settings to even out the meter, my pictures always come out over exposed. I have to compensate by making them "under exposed" so that they come out normal. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Incorrect metering I have a Nikon D40x. About every 100 or so frames that i take, there is a problem with the Nikon Metering system. It incorrectly chooses the Aperture and Shutter Speed. Outdoors, it sometimes overexposes pictures. Indoors, it makes them very dark or black. Should i take this in to get it fixed? I have extended warranty...Alas, this is an intermittent problem. Thoughts?

This is a mind bender, While doing a shoot using monolights connected to a Nikon D1x I encountered exposure problems. After the lights were metered for the best exposure, I started shooting. The first ten or so shots were fine, and all of a sudden the next ten shots looked like they were 8 stops over, and then it went to looking ok. The first thing I did was switch monolights thinking there was a problem with the flash, this did not resolve the issue. Next I switched camera bodies, still the int

I have had this problem before in the past. In my case, it was the lens. The aperture was sticking open intermittently. It would show the correct fstop on the camera display but it was actually stuck wide open within the lens. Check your lens out or ... Digital Cameras

I've got a Fujifilm F30. Since yesterday, its not working properly. When I take photos, it 'absorbs' too much light and indoor photos becomes really bright and outdoor photos becomes nearly white from brightness. And when I transfer the pictures to computer, it has minor lines accross the picture. The video mode seems to be unaffected. What is the problem and is it worth fixing ? Would like to fix it if I can as F30 is still considered one of the best compact camera Fuji has ever made ! Thanks.

Hi Yuri. Turn the camera on and go into the menu and find the reset. Reset it. This will take you back to original factory settings. Then try it out. If it is fixed great. If not take it to your local camera shop that does repairs. J. ... Fuji FinePix F30 Digital Camera

My EOS 400D flash sometimes pops up in bright daylight in full auto mode. I sent it back to Cannon who returned it saying no fault found. I then began to think that the problem was the way I held the camera and that I may be obscuring the (light?) sensor near the grip with my hand. After not using the camera for a while I am now taking shots again and the flash pop up problem has re-appeared. I am now sure I am not blocking the sensor. Any ideas?

In full auto mode, the camera tries to use fill flash, when it detects a backlit scene (e.g. a person in front of a window). So this is not a bug, it's a feature! If you don't want the flash to fire, you can push it down and still take the shot. ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens

Fuji E550 I have same problem for over a year, since the camera is so old, not worth repairing? Did Fuji give any iscount for buying another Fuji camera? Thanks. Evil flash there is either something wrong with my flash or the light meter, but 99% of the time when i go to take a picture, the flash goes off. hood up or down, it doesn't matter. it seems that the only time the flash doesn't go off is in extremely bright light, i called customer support and was basically told to send it away for a million years to have it repaired, but is there possibly a more simple solution?

Blue photos Can anyone tell me some reasons why some outdoor shots I took of snow/trees, etc. might look blueish? I took some pictures at sundown that came out fine, and ones I took about 10 minutes later look blue. I don't recall changing any settings. I also took similar shots at the same time with another digital camera and those looked fine. Is this something that's common in low light with a lot of white background? (Or is this a "user problem?")

Snow pictures tend to be blue due to the blue spectrum being scattered and reflected from the snow (similar to why the sky is blue). Plus just after sunset, you're going to get a cooler color temperature (blue cast).\015\012\015\012However, instead o ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 Digital Camera
