Missing light on pictures

\015 Hi,\015\012\015\012From one picture to another my camera started taking dark pictures. There is not enough light on the pictures, so I guess it is broken somehow.\015\012In order for the pop-up flash to even activate, the object I'm taking a picture of needs to be almost totally black.\015\012So it seems that the camera thinks there is more light than there actually is...?\015\012\015\012Hope somebody can help me :o)\015\012Thanks,\015\012- Louise Eriksen\015\012\015\012Hi Rob,I think I might have posted this message in a wrong forum, I have a canon eos 300D.1) My camera is about 3 years old2) The entire picture is too dark3) It is automatic mode4) I'm not quite sure, I'll go check and post the result when I get to the Internet again5) They are rechargable, one is 3 years old, and the other is probably 2 years old, but not an original brandThanks,- Louise\015

Hi Louise. I found you anyway!
\015\012Troubleshooting this could get complicated, so I want to try some basic stuff first and get that out of the way.
\015\012First: Let's check your camera settings, You may have accidentally set the exposure setting incorrectly. Have you tried resetting your camera back to factory default? The way to do it is in Setup Menu number 2. Scroll down to "Clear All Camera Settings". Then press the Set button. This will take your camera back to like it was when you took it out of the box.
\015\012Now try taking a picture, If you still have the same problem, let me know by commenting in this session and we'll move on to step #2.

Some things to try:\0121. Go into the menu and find "reset" to return to factory default settings.\0122. Check the ISO setting....you may have it set too high for outdoor pictures.\0123. Check the "exposure compensation"...it should be at "0". ... Casio Exilim EX-S500 Digital Camera

When the lighting is better (such as outdoors), the quality is outstanding (crisp and clear) and produces beautiful pictures. Canon SD600 I used my camera to take pictures of fireworks and I noticed that afterwards, all the photos I was taking outside in daylight were turning white.
