Having problems with your Canon Digital Rebel / EOS-300D Digital Camera with EF-S 18-55mm Lens ?

Importing Images Hi, When we take photos on our 500D we can preview the photos on the screen. When we place our Camera card into the computer and try to import the file they say that it is not a supported mode. Displaying the image number for example as IMG_0135.CR2 usually they will display CRW_0135. Is there a solution ?

Answers :

The CR2 suffix means that the picture was taken in the RAW file format, a proprietary format. This requires that the images be processed by a software conversion to be 'readable' by the computer. The EOS Utility software that came with the camera will work, as well as a number of third-party software packages. GOOGLE "raw file conversion Canon digital rebel" to see the options.
\015\012
\015\012The other option is to take your photos in JPEG format (not RAW). Your computer can 'read' any JPEG format image.

In my nikon d50, after I take a photo (when it displays) on the screen), it is covered with a semi-transparent menu of details about the photo. Photos taken now not visible on memory card. I'm currently on vacation and have been taking photos on my DMC-TZ5. Camera has been working fine, until yesterday. I took a number of photos of a particularly memorable day when none of the group had a camera with them. Every time a photo was taken the image was displayed for a second before being able to take another shot. A number of times I went back to check the photos, each time the photo was visible. However, when I returned home and p

I have a Kodak Easyshare model dx5430 digital camera (5mp). It has worked like a champ for years. Last night I was at an event when the image display went dark at picture 31. All preceding photos were able to be reviewed. The camera flash works fine. The camera displays all the other characteristics of a working unit. It turns on and off; the flash works, the menu is accessible - everything. It just doesn't register any photos. Even in close-up mode, there is nothing. It's as if the lens cap is

I have a four year old Canon S1-IS that worked fine as recently as two weeks ago. I tried to take a photo with it last Friday and all I can see in wither the viewfinder or the display is a very garbled screen with horizontal stripes, that seem to change colors. The display mode DOES display images from the Compact Flash card in good shape. Any suggestions? Bruce Vincent [email protected] 281-379-4596

Hi, I have a panasonic Lumix, DMC-FS5 digital camera. When I turn the camera on and it's on 'photograph' mode, a message keeps appearing after a couple of seconds saying: "please turn camera off and then on again". I get the same message everytime and am unable to take any photos or even access the menu options. There are no problems when the mode is set to 'playback' mode. The images are still there and I can scroll through, as well as access the menu.

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 camera has a blurred display within 25 seconds of being turned on when in any mode other than playback. When the display blurs, it quite quickly becomes unviewable, and if I try to take a photo, an error message saying WRITE ERROR PLEASE CHECK THE CARD shows on the screen. The card seems fine and pictures I took before today all look good, both on the display and in a computer. Is there any fix, or do I need a new camera?

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?

My SD800IS was working fine while in the very hot/humid environment of Yap. I took it out of my air conditioned room and went to take a picture almost immediately.
