Diopter adjustment and viewfinder problem

\015 The green viewfinder information is out of focus and there is a reflection of the actual view through the lens in the base of the viewfinder. Also the viewfinder lever does not work properly and if I turn the diopter adjustment wheel this seems to affect the viewfinder display and not the image itself, which cannot be seen in focus through the lens.\302\240\015\012\015\012There is a rattle from the mirror housing so something has obviously come loose.\302\240\015\012\015\012I have owned 5 Eos 1's and never come across this before ?\302\240\015\012\015\012Is there a way for me to get inside the housing to fix this ?\302\240\015\012\015\012Many thanks,\302\240\015\012\015

Hi
I would not attempt to open the camera for any sort of fix. It has weather seals in place and would recommend sending it in to Canon. If you have any warranties left it would void these. Lastly this is a high proformance bit of kit and you want to get is seen to by an Authourised Canon Dealer.

As for the diopter adustment. To be able to see through the view finder and see your subject clearly, take of the lens cap aim the camera and turn the little dial until the screen inside the viewfinder is clear it should not be fuzzy. You are only looking at the screen/gring and not the image beyond. This does not affect your image but does effect how clearly you see your subject through the viewfinder.

Hope this helps

I recently purchased the D80 and had no problems, it worked great and took magnificant shots. However, the other day I turned it on and the viewfinder was now, dark and out of focus. The battery was fully charged and the diopter adjustment failed to fix the problem. I also noted that there was a square in the upper right viewfider that was clear and in focus, just like the entire viewfinder used to be. Of note, it still takes clear, sharp, in-focus shots, it's just that the view in the viewfinde

My Sony Alpha 200 digital camera takes lovely pictures, but as I am a beginner and don't really know much about apertures and shutter speeds and how complex they are, I'm having great difficulty in getting it to focus properly in the manual setting. Photos from my Coolpix LS always appear extremely blue. When I use Photoshop to edit them I have to adjust the color balance on every shot. Sometime the "Auto Adjust" tool is enought. When it is not I move the Yellow/Blue adjustment all to about -85. I move the Majenta/Green adjustment to about -45 and I move the Cyan/Red adjustment to about +15.
