Having problems with your Canon EOS-20D Body only Digital Camera ?

Keep getting ERROR 5. Dont know how to fix....also, cant increase shutter speed beyond 250. Not good enough for HS football action...

Answers :

Depending on the flash you are using, 250 may be as fast as you can go. That may be the limit for the internal flash. A big external flash can go faster because it requires more power.

I have a rebel xt 350D , using 75-300mm 5.6f lens to do some girls basketball photography inside a gym. Had camera set on: ISO 1600, M mode, 5.6f, 200 shutter speed (that seem to set automatically), used built in flash, Exposure level was in the middle of the chart, auto focus, al servo, continuous shooting, used awb. Got pretty good freeze action shots, with little or no blurring but the photos were dark. Some I could make lighter with photoshop but lost some detail and the contrast was too muc

I also looked at the soccer portraits I took right before the action shots same day...and some of those are a little blurry as well. What could be wrong? Please help!

I was at a basketball game last night and taking pictures with the d80 and the 55-200 lens. All of the pictures I took in auto focus were blurry. I changed it to the S mode with shutter speed at 4000 and those pictures came out completely dark with nothing in the picture. I changed the setting to the sports mode and the shutter speed is not fast enough because I have the same issue with blurring or out of focus.

External Flash I set my Epson 3100z camera to manual mode and set up the camera for external flash. I manually set the shutter speed to 1/60 sec and the aperture to F4. I also set my SunPak flash to F4. My exposures seem pretty good. However when I review the various photo info's, the aperture reading is F5 or F4.8 not the F4 I set. Why is this? Anyone experienced this? The shutter speed are also not always what I set on the camera.
