Canon Rebel XTi over exposes images in auto setting
\015 Canon Rebel XTi over exposes images when set on automatic or P. Have already reduced the exposure manually and it still over exposes. Only way to fix is to manually set shutter speed. How can I correct this problem or is it a technical issue that needs to be repaired?\015

I have a canon rebel xti. Some of my images are soft...not too soft, but a little. If I upgraded to canon 40 D slr, would my pictures be sharper, like around someones eyes, assuming I keep the lens, aperture settings, and shutter speed, and ISO the same? In other words,is an amateur photog. like myself going to be able to take better pictures with a different camera body...the 40 d vs. the rebel xti? thanks, dr john [email protected]

Resolution I have a Canon Rebel XTI. Here is my problem. I took some senior pictures and then downloaded them onto my computer so that I could order them from my lab. The largest size that I could order was a 5x7 because of the resolution. What am I doing wrong. I have my camera set for the highest setting and I am using full auto. Can you tell me what may be affecting the resolution?
I suspect that what you have done is upload the thumbnails to the lab and not the actual picture.(check the sizes in kb) As fertobar says even at the lowest resolution setting the 400d is more than capable of printing out decent 5x7s. ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera

I own a Canon EOS Rebel XTi. This camera is unpredictable; i.e., I never know when it will decide not to record an image. I have reset it many times to the manufacturer's default settings, and then it SOMETIMES works, but then for some reason stops recording images. I have started to always carry a second camera (a point & shoot). However I am enrolled in a number of photography classes in the new year where I need an SLR. Is this camera issue serious or something I can fix? Thanks.

Image quality Hi. When I'm taking photos and set my exposure manually on my Canon 20D, the image looks right exposed on my LCD screen, but when I download all the photos on my PC, all the photos are VERY DARK. I have a Canon Rebel XS that I just purchased a month ago. I have taken very good care of it. I took several pictures yesterday, but when I turned it in this morning it wouldn't take a picture. It flashes rapidly, but won't focus. The only setting I ever use is the auto focus setting, and I've checked to make sure it was still set, but still it won't take a picture. EOS Utility I purchased a Rebel Xsi, and installed the software. Upon connecting my camera to my computer, and launching the EOS Utility, the options to download the images, select images, or camera settings are shaded out. I have updated all of the software from Canon's website with the June 2009 updates, and the problem persists. Thanks for the help.

Hi,\015\012It sounds like the 'mirror up' option is selected since the mirror will stay up for 30 seconds then close and it wouldn't be active on any of the basic settings. You'll want to go into your settings menu and disable mirror lockup. If you n ... Canon EOS 450D Digital Camera

Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

I have a one year-old Canon Rebel XTi. Overall, the picture quality is consistent with the 10.2 megapixel capability. But, using the automatic setting, virtually ALL of my pictures are so dark (even with a flash) that they require added contrast and fill-light when reviewing them. I've talked to other owners of the same camera and they DO NOT have the same problem. Do you think there is a correctable problem to address? Or, is it possible that there is an inherent issue with the camera and
