Exposure compensation can be dialed through the '+' and '-' keys in the upper right hand side of the camera body. The shutter speed should alone take care of the exposure meter if the aperture is more or less good...

ps: sometimes when we increase the shutter speed to 1/2000 th of a sec..it takes a while to reach the zero mark in the exposure bar since you need to dial more to reach an acceptable shutter speed like say 1/10th ...or 1"...

In a studio environment with 5500K softbox lighting, using a tripod and AF on a portrait subject, with ISO 125 in Manual and Portrait exposure. I also shot the same subject with a Cannon G10 and same settings. My Cannon photos were tack sharp, but my Olympus photos were not. Also, the Cannon colors were more realistic than the Olympus. Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

Canon EOS Rebel XT with EFS 18-55mm lens. Trouble-free for two years. During a weekend of lots of use, suddenly the camera would not autofocus. Switching to manual focus, the camera worked. Then it started working okay in autofocus. Later that day quit altogether. (Would not release shutter even in manual mode.) Removed the lens and cleaned the contacts on both lens and camera, started working okay but only temporary. Went through several cycles of this over the weekend, so I'm not sure

I also set my SunPak flash to F4. My exposures seem pretty good. However when I review the various photo info's, the aperture reading is F5 or F4.8 not the F4 I set. Why is this? Anyone experienced this? The shutter speed are also not always what I set on the camera.
