Err 99 when use internal flash
\015 Last night, my Canon 40D fell on the ground, it still worked good until I tried to use the internal flash, the flash could not pop out, instead, it just remained half open and made a lot of noise. then there was an err 99 msg showed on the LCD.\015\012I tried to remove battery, but it was still there.\015\012If I kept flash fully open, the flash still worked. However, when I closed it and tried to pop it out again, same thing still happened. I have to restart.\015\012\015\012I have no idea about what has happened. The camera is still with in warranty, however, it is a man-made mistake (fell on the ground). I am not sure if I send it back to Canon and ask for repair, how much it would cost.\015\012\015\012thanks\015

I only use the camera once a week and then take about 300 pics at a time then.

I think that when the error occurs the caera is trying to pop open the built-in flash, at least someone told me that today.

I have a Canon EOS 40D camera. We are having problems with using an external flash. The pictures always come out extremely dark with the external flash. The flash seems to work fine, it flashes brightly. The pictures look fine using the built in flash. The flash is a Promaster but we tried a Canon flash and it did the same thing. Camera flash i generally use my camera on auto mode so i don't have to play around with buttons! however after loaning my camera to my sister for a week my flash is no longer as great as it was!! I used to take pics and the flash would light 2-3 times giving a great, bright picture. It now flashes once before the pic is snapped giving a dark picture. If i push the flash button on the left side of the scrolling circle it goes from red eye flash (which flashes once) to no flash! I'm almost certain

Hi, My D80 has suddenly developed a fault, where it registers the flash as open and in use even when its shut. This has the effect of syncing the shutter speed and limiting it to 1 200th in all modes. In addition, whilst the flash button will still change the flash mode using the command dials, it won't open the flash- almost like the camera thinks the flash is already open. I have tried prising open the flash, and it still doesn't fire even when open. There was no indication of a problem previ

Canon sd900 I seldom use my canon sd900 and I usually take pictures without using the flash. But I recently noticed that my hands should be very very steady, just a slight movement will cause the picture to be blurry or unclear. I usually don?t use the flash because it gives a darker background with your face too white from the flash. And my problem arises when I would request other people to take my picture because 90% don?t have a steady hand thus giving me a blurry picture.
Try a higher ISO speed (suggest 400). Look in your camera's instruction book to find out how to do this. ... Digital Cameras

Overexposure I have owned my Fujifilm S5000 for about 2 1/2 years. It has worked perfectly until the last couple of months. I have always used the flash when the camera told me to. Recently, the camera has been overexposing inside pictures when I use the flash. If I don't use the flash, it underexposes the picture. Any suggestions...ideas? I have moved fairly recently and can't find my manual anywhere. Thanks, Laurie

I have a Canon Digital EOS Rebel XT and the built-in flash no longer pops up when needed. This started happening after using a Canon speedlite, but then removing it. I've tried resetting everything, and tried all modes expecting that the ones listed in the manual as using a flash would work, but they dont, it never pops up. I lifted up the flash with my fingernail manually, and then tried taking a picture where a flash was most definitely needed, but it still had a long delay, no flash, and
