Menu options for Canon E0S 40D have changed

\015 Hi there,I've had my camera for about a year. Today I plugged in the battery to recharge. When I put the battery back into the camera the menu options changed. On the menu option scroll bar along the top of the screen the only option I can click on now is the green star on the far right called 'My menu settings'. Usually I can choose from all the icons, but now, all of a sudden, this isn't possible! When I click on 'My menu settings' I can choose between the following options: Register, Sort, Delete, Delete all items, Display from My Menu (Enable).Another strange thing - I've also tried to upload my photos to my PC this morning and, whereas I've managed to do this successfully before, now the PC doesn't recognise the camera...Can you help? I'm doing a photography course next week and really need a working camera for it!ThanksLeanne\015

Make sure that you didn't dislodge the memory card when you put in the battery.\015\012
\015\012Note that you can get a memory card reader to read the contents of the flash card directly on your computer.\015\012
\015\012If the 40D is like the other Canon DSLRs that I have used, you can put an update on the flash card that will update the camera's firmware.  You might need to go to the Canon side and download new firmware to update your camera.  Instructions should be on the site.\015\012

I paid my $6 and got advice from a guru of yours on this question, and it didn't work. The question was: How to choose the metering when the shooting menu skips that item when advanced through the options. I was told to change the autofocus to the default full picture, and that did not work, nor did trying all the other autofocus options.

From what I understand, metering is automatic when used in any auto focus setting, which means it would be grayed out in the menu options. Not knowing what make and model camera you're using, I can't say much more than that. Look into your manual ... Digital Cameras

I have searched some of the forums on the web and it has been suggested that the FZ45 does not have an auto fla
