Having problems with your Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera ?

Exposure problem I have just purchased a Canon 40D. When shooting in Manual mode with an external flash, (photogenic) my exposure always looks correct thru the lcd but it always flashes -2 no matter what setting I have the camera on. What am I missing? I am relying on the camera's reading as my light meter is broken.

The problem is with the flash. When set on “auto” the flash will always go on during the day, when the conditions are great. I always have to set it to off. At night, no matter what settings I have, the camera on, the flash opens and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No matter what I do, sometimes it just won’t flash.

External Flash I set my Epson 3100z camera to manual mode and set up the camera for external flash. I manually set the shutter speed to 1/60 sec and the aperture to F4. I also set my SunPak flash to F4. My exposures seem pretty good. However when I review the various photo info's, the aperture reading is F5 or F4.8 not the F4 I set. Why is this? Anyone experienced this? The shutter speed are also not always what I set on the camera.

I am having problems with the flash working on my camera. It does not seem to matter if it is in automatic or manual modes. When I take a picture in either mode, when a flash is needed, the flash icon just blinks on the display. The camera will not take any photo when this is happening. The only way I can get my camera to take a photo is manually set the flash to off. Why is this happening?

Canon A560 camera problem - the images are overexposed. I checked the exposure setting, AWB, and all other settings and they are all normal. There is an exposure setting where I can set to + or - 2, but setting it to -2 does not help much. Outdoor photos are almost completely white. There is some detail in black objects. Indoor photos are overexposed. Flash pictures seem OK. The picture on the display is OK. I compared some macro photos taken a few weeks ago with macro photos now. The good photo

Hello. I bought my Powershot SX1 IS in April 2010, and have never felt I could get good photos with it. The 'noise' seems bad, when I playback and zoom in just one notch, definately worse, the more I zoom. The color is often poor, and the focus on close-ups is not sharp. Would you say this is the best this camera can do, or would you say there is something wrong with this particular one. Overexposed photos?? when i hit my shutter release button, sometimes the flash doesn't pop up and the view finder goes black. Many picture moments are missed because of this!

I have had an Pentax Optio S10 auto focus camera for about 3 years and it hasn't missed a beat. But now it will not take photos in flash mode. I have tried the usual settings as per the manual, and noticed a previous posting of the same issue. The response was to recharge the battery, which currently I am doing. The indicator on the camera's LCD however shows the battery to be almost fully charged though. Would this be the same issue? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Graham
