Having problems with your Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera ?

My eos40d on sports mode is not shooting at its proper speed at 6.5 frames per second. it shoots 2 frames per second and the piture cones out orange and not focus I only have this camera four weeks any ideas what wrong thanks

Answers :

6.5fps is only the manufacturer's indicative maximum. The camera will not always perform at this speed when conditions aren't suitable (too dark, for example). In Sports Mode, the camera decides the correct shutter speed for that scene. If it's not a very bright day, shutter speed has to be lowered (slow) to compensate for the lack of light. This results in a lower frame per second.

\015\012If you want to test the max fps, set your camera on Tv, and set the speed to 1/1000+ on a bright sunny day. Set the Drive Mode to AI Focus or AI Servo. If at 1/1000th of a sec, the Aperture value blinks in the viewfinder, you don't have enough light. Increase the ISO. You should be able to achieve 6.5fps. That's my experience anyway. Good luck.

Shutter frame rate drops to about 1 per sec on CH with MB D10 while using any auto focus lens. 14-24,24-70 or 70-200 and an older 20mm auto focus. With no lens or a manual focus, very old 55mm Micro, lens attached frame rate is normal.

Wow, that's weird. Does it do it with the auto-focus switch on the body turned to manual? I shoot a D300 and know pretty much everything about it there is to know and the D700 is basically the same camera with a full frame sensor. The only things I k ... Nikon D700 Digital Camera

I have a new k20D I have had it less than a week and I can't seem to get the auto focus to work. I can manually focus but when on auto I get the red square for a second and then it goes off it does not move the lens into focus and it does not beep. I am wondering if I have a setting wrong but I reviewed the manual and I don't think I am missing something but maybe I am.

Does your lens have a ring on it with various lens openings marked on it such as 3.5, 22 etc.? If so, it should also have a "A" setting which is where you should have it. Also, I'm assuming your lens is an auto-focus lens. ... Pentax K20D Digital Camera

I don't know what the exact frame rate is, but it's fairly low. I reckon about 8-10 FPS, which is more than good enough to put on a web page or to email to someone. If you need anything higher quality wise, then you're better off looking at a mini-DV ... Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-F55 Digital Camera

I just got my Xacti CS1 and after I shot a couple of test videos, I checked the playback. On the camera screen, playback is flawless, it's quite great, however, when I play the videos back on my macbook in quicktime player, the video is choppy. It will skip a couple of frames every second. It just freezes and then all of a sudden it's a completely different frame like the video was cut and spliced together. What's wrong?

My Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTI will not automatically focus. The little AF points don't show red to signify it is focusing. The camera just takes a blurry picture. It was working perfectly one minute and the next it wasn't. I tried taking the battery out and the points would turn red a few times then they would quit working again. I have two olympus 1010 camera's. Both have been dropped. The lens is patially open and the cover not fully closed. The second powers up with information on the LCD but instead of seeing through the camera you see black. Phots can be taken but they too are black. What is wrong and what can be done to fix them?

Canon Powershot A610 digital camera--LCD screen shows icons, but otherwise is blank--there is no visible movement in the lens when I take a picture without flash--have tried setting it on TV setting and taking a picture, then opening the battery cover for a few seconds after waiting 7 seconds or so, but no images on the LCD except the camera's icons--ideas? probably a stuck shutter, or is it still possibly the CCD sensor even though there's no visible movement in the lens? Ideas? Thanks!

Much more likely that it's a stuck shutter, especially for your model camera. How many tries did you give the fix? Some people stated that it took at least 15 repeated tries before the shutter opened:\015\012\015\012\015\012 ... Canon PowerShot A610 Digital Camera
