I need some photo tips of taking heritage buildings so that the photos demonstrate the purpose of the building in a creative and interesting way.

I don't think that is an easy task on such a forum as this. This is a talent not a task that you can instill in such a limited media

My suggestion is to visit your local library and acquire some books on Architecture and photography. Taking a look at books that show Spanish Architecture of the Mooors or Iranian arch. will inspire you to become creative .

Even looking at Gaudi's buildings like Guell Park in Barcelona as well as The Familia Segrada will give you some guidance as to what is artistic as well as heritage. You can then start looking at buildings in your own envionment differently to what is obvious.

This is broad subject, but the guidelines I follow for a sucessful architecture shot are:
\015\012
\015\012Make sure the light is right. The light is key to get a pleasing photo. An overcast day will help eliminate harsh shadows or very late in the day when the sun is low in the sky as the sun will have a pleasing warm tone and it will bring out the detail.
\015\012
\015\012If the building is lit up at dusk/night with flood lights this is the best time, as the exposure between the sky and the subject will be best matched. At twilight or dusk the sky will have a nice dark blue or purple tone and the building will be lit up. A tripod will be needed for this. Use a cable release or self timer with mirror lock up to avoid camera shake.
\015\012
\015\012Another tip is to of course use a wide angle lens to get as much of building as possible, as well as trying to keep the sensor plain (the chip in the camera that captures the photo) as the same plain as the side of the building. This will help reduce converging verticals.
\015\012
\015\012Try to leave a bit of cropping room around the subject incase you want to trim it on the computer.
\015\012
\015\012Also capture some detail shots to compliment your main photo of the building. Why not get in close and zoom in on the details up high and try to get different viewpoints.
\015\012
\015\012Go to www.flickr.com for ideas and type in the subject type in the search bar.
\015\012
\015\012Good luck.

Switch glitch When i turn on my camera it goes off again within a few seconds (or maybe less). I have to turn it all the way off (slowly) and on again. Sometimes it stays on (at least long enough for a photo) and other times not. Has been getting worse so now the camera is pretty useless. I am presuming that the switch has had it (any other suggestions?) Interestingly while it was under warranty i had switch problems and it was replaced so this is the second switch on the camera. Using my Canon XSi/450D, I'm interested in doing High Dynamic Range photography. But I can't discover how to make the automated shutter-speed range multi-shot (3 for the 450D) AEB work. I've gone into the menu and select and change the AEB range ( -2V) and pressed "set." Working from the "AV" in creative mode, I then set up my first shot with focus and ISO, and shoot. Now what? When I press the shoot button, an ordinary photo is captured, and if I continue to press the button additional cap

Hello, I have a Cannon IXUS 95 IS. I accidentally removed some very important photos recently and I was wondering if there is any way to recover them. I am desperate to find a way to do this as they are very unique and sentimental photos. The reason I removed them was because I attempted to condense my already full memory card and went into the main menu. There I went to the "format memory card" page and pressed OK. I was unaware that formatting the memory card meant that all of my photos woul

Missing photos Hi, IF photos were there and are not showing up, is there a way to look at the camera's internal memory in case they are still there? We use our camera for passports, so having the pictures stay in the camera, then hook to camera up to the passport photo printer, is the easiest way to go.
