Hello,

\015\012I had a similar focus problem with a Tamron 70-300 for canon. What can i tell you is that if you o not have experience in this domain you should NOT disassemble the lens because you will have a very hard time to put it back together. Also, it's very hard to allign all the glass lens inside and you may end up in making it worse.
\015\012As I see this, you have 2 options:
\015\012Either you learn using the camera in Manual Focus mode, which is not a bad idea, in time you cn become faster than the AF :)
\015\012or
\015\012you can try to find a shop that sells cameras, they may direct you to a service, it does not have to be canon but must be a person with a technical background in cameras and such.

Canon EOS Rebel XT with EFS 18-55mm lens. Trouble-free for two years. During a weekend of lots of use, suddenly the camera would not autofocus. Switching to manual focus, the camera worked. Then it started working okay in autofocus. Later that day quit altogether. (Would not release shutter even in manual mode.) Removed the lens and cleaned the contacts on both lens and camera, started working okay but only temporary. Went through several cycles of this over the weekend, so I'm not sure

Nikon D80 with a Sigma Lens (80 to 200 I think). In manual mode, often shutter won't release - this was a close up of a hummingbird with a fast shutter speed. Internal light meter showed underexposed, but the background was dark green. I have a Canon zoom lens EF-5 18-55mm for my Canon EOS 450D. I am having trouble with my AF. If I set it on AF it will not focus automatically, but if I manually turn the lens for a close up it will then take the picture. Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p
