I'm having problems with the settings on my Canon EOS 400D. When I take pictures in AV mode I can get quality pictures but in TV or M modes the pictures always come out so dark even when taking them outside in daylight. They are not coming back with a completely blank screen as I can see the outlines of the image. Even when I try different settings nothing improves the image.

You need to understand the relationship and teractivity of aperture, shutter speed and iso. In Av mod, you choose the aperture and the camera makes thw shutter speed agjustment, In Tv mode, you set the shutter speed and the camera makes the aperture ... Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi Digital Camera

Resolution problems I have my Cannon XT set at large under quality but no matter what the quality setting is set at all my pictures once downloaded have a PPI of 72. I have tried everything possible but still get only 72 PPI pics. I am using Cannon software to download the pictures and have also tried Adobe. What can I do to fix the problem?

Sometimes if you open up a photo in Photoshop, or another bitmap program, it'll display your photo at 72dpi. That's OK because your photo is likely to also be very large in size. Reduce it's size while at the same time allowing those pixels to crunch ... Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera

I think I'm going to explode if I hear one more "worn out battery" explanation for what seems to be a pretty common complaint. This is my 3rd camera...all ending up with the same problem. I've had the Canon Power Shot A570 for less than a year. Someone suggested changing the settings...but even with brand spanking new batteries, I can't even get it to last long enough to get into the settings. There is clearly a problem here that has NOTHING to do with the blasted batteries.

Sounds like you have a faulty board in the camera or it could be something as simple as a software upgrade, I know some of the Fuji Hine Pix had the same problem and it was the software. Take it back to the Canon. ... Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

Won't Focus I have had my Canon Powershot SD1000 for about 9 months now. I have had problems with the lens error and it getting stuck but have always been able to get it to work eventually. I had another bout with the lens getting stuck, was able to get it unstuck but now it won't focus at all. Normally I press the shutter down half way to get it to focus on my subject, but now it simply won't focus. I'm wondering if maybe my settings are off, or if it's an internal problem. Any suggestions

Canon xt When I try to shoot sports at night under lights I am having difficulty getting my camera in maunal mode without having bulb mode as well. How do I turn bulb off? I am setting my ISO at 1600 and pushing my f-stop as low as I can go, am I doing something wrong? It worked once for a recent football game but again last night shooting soccer could not get the bulb setting to turn off.

First of all, shooting sports in manual is about the most difficult thing you could ever choose to do. I use the Av (Aperture Priority) and let the camera set the shutter speed. Just set your aperture wide open and fire away. That way, you're not con ... Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera

Hi I have a Canon PowerShot A460 and normally do notn have any problems at all. For the last few hours I cannot take any photos outside - all I get is a white screen. Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

Try your EOS in AV (aprature value) mode. You should be able to adjust your aperature value in 1/3 or 1/2 steps dependind how you have your Custom Functions set in your camera's menu. Possibly the lens you purchased is for an EOS 35mm. If you use a 3 ... Sigma Digital Cameras

I have a one year-old Canon Rebel XTi. Overall, the picture quality is consistent with the 10.2 megapixel capability. But, using the automatic setting, virtually ALL of my pictures are so dark (even with a flash) that they require added contrast and fill-light when reviewing them. I've talked to other owners of the same camera and they DO NOT have the same problem. Do you think there is a correctable problem to address? Or, is it possible that there is an inherent issue with the camera and

Grainy Pictures I received this camera as a Christmas gift, this past Christmas, and I have not been able to get a decent photo from it yet. The indoor photos are very grainy with a bubble sometimes in the photo. Outdoor photos are too light and also grainy, especially when the zoom is used. I have tried adjusting the image quality and the ISO setting but neither of these adjustments have improved the quality of the pictures. The printed pictures look worse than the images on the LCD screen. I c

The shutter speed priority setting on my Canon 40D keeps jumping to a different speed that I haven't set. E.g - set at 200, jumps to 25 when I go to take a photo. I have spoken to Canon regarding the problem and they have suggested that I clear the user settings. This initially solved the problem for all of an hour, but the problem has now started up again. I'll probably be sending it in, as I think it might be a problem with the hardware, just thought I'd check here first. Any suggestio

Flash Pictures I have a Canon XTi and am using a 580EX flash with it. The problem is, I have to set the flash at plus 1 1/2 to 2 stops to get a decent exposure. Is there something that I am doing wrong?

All canons tend to underexpose to avoid blowing the highlights. I still think this is a poor design / calibration of the light meter. A search of the net will reveal some folks who sent their xti's in to canon to be fixed and got them back better. Ca ... Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera
