Having problems with your Canon EOS 50D Digital Camera ?

How do you put the flash off on the canon 50D, while shooting in P? I would like to take photos of my daughter's first dance concert tonight, and we are not allowed to use a flash. Alternatively, which setting should be good in low light? Thanks

On my Pentax cameras, if I don't flip up the flash, it doesn't go off. Does your camera work differently?\015\012In low light, I have success with setting the ISO to 800 and using a monopod to steady the camera. I set the exposure to "spot" so I can take a reading on the subject and not the background and once I get a reading, I lock it in. I set the white balance to tungsten lighting. I also fire off a few test shots to double-check the settings.

I have a Nikon D300. I can't seem to figure out what's wrong, I assume it's a setting issue. In low light situations even with the flash I can't seem to stop action or even properly light things. I have had any kind of issue like this on a camera before. In situations where I should be able to handhold I am using a monopod. I know there is enough light to not have to handhold, I mean I am using the flash. Frankly even with available light this should not be an issue.

Concert settings Hi, I am going to a concert, can you tell me the best settings to have the camera on, when I have it on iA if the subject moves then the picture is blurry, as there will lots of movement I obviously need to change this, also when I used it at my son's school in low light the pictures came out dark. Would it be best for me to do manual settings, if so which one? Thanks Julie

I am using an Olympus E-500. and am trying to use the built in flash, set to one eight or to one sixty fourth of normal output, to trigger an external flash unit. The camera is set to "Vivid", manual, auto focus, and iso 100. From the "manual flash" menu I should be able to select either full, 1/4. 1/16 or 1/64 of the output. However, those choices never light up. I keep cycling through the first two lines of the menu and never reach the third line with the light output options I want. P

Close-up picture Hi! I purchased my camera to take up close-up pictures of handmade greeting cards. The cards are 4" x 5 1/2" with lots of little details. I'd like to show as much detail as possble. I'm not sure what the best setting are? I've tried using the flash, but the whole picture just glares out, the light bounces off of the card and makes a big glare in the center. Without the flash, the picture is too dark. Can you help me figure out the best setting to use? Or, what kind of lighting

Indoors it's always better to use a flash. Your camera will switch to proper settings automatically on auto mode. Indoors you can use ISO 400, 1/125s, f5.6 (all this depends on light and distance). Outside ISO 100, 1/250s, f8.With camera's auto ... Nikon D5000 Digital Camera

When turning on the camera, the card reader light flashes sometimes for a full minute before you can take a picture, I am using a Olympus xD 2GB memory card which works fine after the card reader light quits flashing. I have tried in low light levels and the images are coming out at all but, poorly. I have experimented in vein with settings. As much as I use the camera I rarely adjust any settings, don't kn

We have a new custom build PC from Data Doctors for personal use with Vista 7 and have a Samsung SyncMaster 191t monitor that was previously used for gaming and had a DVI cable. We bought a VGA cable but the Samsung monitor just says Check Signal Cable. We also tried using a VGA to DVI adapter, but that didn't work either. The monitor didn't even say check the signal cable then; only the green monitor light kept flashing. Is there a setting inside the SyncMaster 191t that would be previously set

Nikon CoolPix S500 shows colored lines on lcd and in photos where the lights are bright. I have restored settings tried using it with no flash, soft flash, and auto flash and the problem continues. Noticed the lines on the lcd over a year ago and it has progressed to brightly lit photos also now. In some photos lighter colors also show up with the lines. ie. My daughters blonde hair in the light looks almost transparent with all the lines running through it. Is this a lens problem? Is there

Hello jenmardi,First, the fstop and shutter speed question ... For a lens of 70 mm I would use the manual with shutter speed at least 1/250 or 1/500, then the fstop I would set at 2.8 or just under this, no more than 4. You need as much l ... Nikon D200 Digital Camera with 18-200mm Lens

Hi i am using a Nikon N75 to take pictures for my photo class, and the instructor wants us to take low light indoor phtotos at a shutter speed of 1/30 at f2.2. However, when i go to set these settings in manual mode the camera will not let me set my aperture to 2.2 it usually stops at 4 and there is no way i can make it 2.2. i didn't know if there is a limitation on the camera but it seems like i should be able to select what i want.

It's probably a limitation of your lens. You didn't say what lens you're using, but one of the common kit lenses sold with the N75 only goes to f/3.3 at best. If you had a lens that opens up more, the camera will let you use it.The differ ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Canon SD600 I used my camera to take pictures of fireworks and I noticed that afterwards, all the photos I was taking outside in daylight were turning white. If I take pictures in the dark, they turn out perfect, and low light pictures are fairly normal except anywhere where there is a light source (lamp, window, etc) the color is streaky and orange. This particular camera has no way to adjust the aperture settings and I am considering taking it to a shop to have it looked at. Is there anything
