Canon Rebel Freezes when transfering photos to computer

\015 We use several Rebel t3i for work. We have had them for some time now and everything was fine. Now recently when we transfer photos over to the same computer as always the computer freezes up and the only way to resolve the issue is to shut the unit down. This happens when transferring even 5 photos at a time. They are only a few MB big so it is not a huge data transfer. We use card readers, are other Rebel cameras, make sure no other programs are running, xfer straight from the camera, even transfer one photo at a time. This is an intermit issue but happens so often now, that it is becoming a huge issue for us. Nothing has changed in the process of the way we transfer and nothing has changed on the computer itself. Thanks in advance.\015

Well, without access to your equipment, I can only guess. However, you could have three main causes for this problem.
1) Camera(s) If it only does it with a couple of cameras then it is a camera problem, If it only does it with the same camera over and over again it is definitely the camera. If it does it with all your cameras it is probably not the cameras.
2) Card reader. I don't know how to check this (I don't know any that are repairable), but the easiest solution would be to replace it. If the problem continues after you replace it, with any camera, then you are left with:
3) Computer. First off try the card reader on another USB port on the computer - the one your are using may be damaged in some way. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you are looking at a computer repair/replacement.
