I'm assuming you're talking about a point-and-shoot model, and not the\015\0121000D as the category suggests. Camera mode has significantly higher\015\012power requirements than viewing mode. It is possible that your\015\012rechargeable battery has degraded to a point where it no longer can\015\012power camera mode, or it might just be discharged. Try with a freshly\015\012charged battery, or if you're lucky enough to run on AA batteries, get\015\012new ones. You might also try using the camera while plugged into the\015\012USB port of the PC, which might be able to supply power to the camera.\015\012I have noticed that when the batteries are near-empty, the camera\015\012"dies" rather abruptly.

Canon A510 Powershot camera will not stay powered on when I turn it on in picture-review mode. It comes on for a second --> Canon screen flashes on -- and then shuts off. In picture-taking mode, it seems to be fine. It stays on. But if I switch to review mode, it turns off. I've changed the batteries. It was fine last time I used it, last week. I left it plugged into the PC for a few days, if that makes any difference.
