Hiyou have very common problem of canon dslr product. usually problem come from defective shutter unit. However, there is cause from lens also. Would you remove lens and push shutter button? if no error 99, then the problem come from lens---usually power diaphragm control fpc defective. If shows error 99, then you have body problem. At this point, still you have to check more. please set camera M mode and bulb shutter speed, you have to look front of camera if mirror goes up and show to you picture sensor. would you tell me more later. My cannon rebel will not take picture or go to the menu the only thing it will do is turn on. And when i turn it on a message pops up that says "shooting is not possible. Turn the power switch to off and on again or re-install the battery." I have tried turning the camera on and off and reinstalling the battery multiple times but nothing works. Do i have to take my camera to a camera shop to get fixed or could i do something at home to fix it??

I changed the batteries in my Power Shot A720 IS recently when the low battery warning flashed, and had taken only two photos when the warning flashed again. I moved the mode switch to playback and the screen went dark "Change batteries now" appeared. I turned off the camera, set the mode switch to shooting, turned the camera back on and was able to take two more photos before the low battery warning returned and prevented any more picture taking. I purchased and installed new batteries and f

Canon A510 Powershot camera will not stay powered on when I turn it on in picture-review mode. It comes on for a second --> Canon screen flashes on -- and then shuts off. In picture-taking mode, it seems to be fine. It stays on. But if I switch to review mode, it turns off. I've changed the batteries. It was fine last time I used it, last week. I left it plugged into the PC for a few days, if that makes any difference.

These cameras have capacitors built into the circuitry. A capacitor holds a higher voltage so the camera will operate when in use. Some modes in these cameras do need a higher voltage to work. The capacitor for the review mode is weak and will need t ... Digital Cameras

Since I have been using and recharging the same batteries since I got the camera, could it just be that I need new rechargeable batteries? I bought the camera in 2004 and love it. Power/lens Problems I'm having some power/lens problems with my camera. When I turn on the power in either the picture or video mode, the green light will turn on for a split second then turn off. The lens does not come out at all. However, when I try to turn it on with the picture viewer or in the menu it works just fine. When I start with the picture viewer and then switch to the camera it turns off. Thus it seems that whenever I want to take a picture or a movie the camera doesn't work.
