Canon PowerShot A495 - Brand new. Used it once and took 40 photos. It then told me to change the batteries which I did. From then on it keeps saying "change the batteries" I've used alkalines and also rechargeable NiMH, These are either new or fully recharged batteries and still I get the same message. I have also cleaned the terminals inside the camera and even those on the batteries themselves. No change. This is clearly not a battery problem. This is a camera problem and its seems I am not th

Samsung s500 I just bought this camera about 8 months ago, but it has never seemed to work right. It goes thru batteries like crazy. It will only take about 3 pics for every new set of batteries I put in it. I think I have spent more in batteries now han I originally did on the camera. Someone said to get rechargable batteries, this would be cost effective, however does not solve my problem of 3 pics before I would have to recharge. What can I do?

I have a relatively new camera. The battery seems to keep draining way faster than other cameras I have had. i.e. took about 70 pictures and it drained. Do I have to constantly recharge it? If it site a few weeks without usage does that drain the battery? OR do I need a new battery? I can not find my receipt for the camera.

My Canon powershot SD20 seems to constantly have a drained battery. I have two batteries for it, and each one seems to be good for about five minutes, then the camera says change the battery pack and it shuts off. But when I plug the battery in to charge the green fully charged light comes on within a minute. Are BOTH of the batteries defective, or is this a problem with the camera itself?

My Sony H1 can no longer work with recargeable batteries so I had to use AA alkaline last year. Now this year it will only take 4 or 5 pics with new alkaline. So am using Lithium, it takes about40 pics then shows batteries dead. What is the problem with it needing stronger batteries as it gets older? Battery Problems The Canon PowerShot A480 is sucking the life out of the batteries! I get about half a dozen shots and it says I need new batteries - I change to fully-charged ones and as soon as I put them in they are almost gone (that icon is flashing at me). I have used new rechargeble and old ones ... I've used two different rechargers ... I've tried leaving the batteries in until the red light goes out on the charger and I've also tried leaving the batteries in for a day or so past the red

Camera works for a very while, but quickly senses low battery and shuts down. Won't work more than a couple of pictures with 2300mAh rechargeables, maybe 10 pictures with alkaline. Seems oversensitive to lowered voltage. Is this a known problem with a cheap/free fix?

Something, it sounds like, is draining the batteries. Rechargeables are a lower voltage, and don't last as long as alkalines, but the alkalines should give you at least a couple hundred pics (depending on how much the flash and zoom is used, camer ... Olympus SP-320 Digital Camera

I have a Canon PC 1309 Digital Camera, which seems to have no power. I tried new batteries - nothing. Inside the camera is a little rechargeable battery - MS614SE. This battery is rated at 3.1v, but it is comatose - just nudges the needle on the voltmeter. My question is: is the rechargeable battery bad, needs to be replaced, or is it something else - the battery is good but is simply not being recharged? Can these batteries be recharged in a Radio Shack recharger?

Everything seems to be working but the shutter release button. It does nothing, even depressing the button halfway for metering shows nothing. no indicators in viewfinder info line. I assumed it was a third party Battery problem, as there was a Impact battery being used primarily at the time. However replacing the Battery with a pentax battery didn't change anything. Camera not dropped, or damaged in any way, its a sudden problem i cannot seem to troubleshoot.

Battery problem This morning I turned on my brand new Nikon Coolpix 5400 and got nothing on the screen. pushed some buttons and still nothing. Went to turn it off and it won't. The lens stays extended and the power light is still on. I don't know if maybe the batteries are so low they can't do anything, but I was under the impression that the camera had an indicator for the batteries really needing to be recharged. The low battery light was on last night, but I haven't seen need to be recharged

Some of these cameras go from "low" to "no" very quickly. The electronics are more sensitive to available voltage than the mechanicals and it doesn't take full voltage to keep an led lit or to retract the lens. But the cpu shuts down. I would have ex ... Nikon Coolpix 5400 Digital Camera

EasyShare Z712IS Purchased this camera in Aug. I love it but I can't seem to keep a charged battery in it. I bought some 2X rechargeable NI-MH batteries. Maybe they are not the right ones for the camera. Since the battery that came with the camera went dead I have tried these and they only last for about 6 - 10 pictures before needing recharging. Battery drain The batteries seem to drain quickly even when not in use. We bought new rechargables thinking it was the batteries but could it be the camera. Is there something that may be draining the batteries?

Some models of camera do this, it's like a standby mode.\015\012\015\012you can bypass this by blocking the terminals with a piece of paper or plastic, which you remove when you want to use, this should protect the battery life, however you ... Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera

Battery Problem My 18-month-old Canon A70 is giving "change the battery pack" message and turning off constantly, even though I have fully charged three different sets of new rechargeable batteries and rotate them as soon as the message comes on. Sometimes with this message I pull out one charged set and put the same back in, and it works fine for quite awhile, then repeats later. MFH-CDC When a fresh or old battery is replaced the DATE/TIME is displayed. From this point on you can't change the mode.
