Please help! I have a Canon Powershot A460. When I take pictures in macro mode, they are all flashed out, so bright even if taken indoor. I can barely make out an image. But if I take normal shot, results seem normal. I have read the manual -basic & advanced- but I can't find the right solution. This does not happen before.

Try going into the M(anual) mode on the selector dial and then turn off the flash (press the right side of the controller button until you see the lightning bolt with a bar through it). The macro shooting option should still be available in the manua ... Canon PowerShot A460 Digital Camera

Split images Occasionally when I transfer photos taken with my Canon 40D to my computer they are broken in half or thirds and the images switched (the middle appears on the right side of the photo, the left appears in the middle, the bottom appears in the middle, etc.). My Canon S3 IS compact has a viewfinder problem. Upon switching on it always shows the "settings" icons around the viewfinder but the image is not there. I have to turn the camera on and off about 6 to 10 times. The viewfinder image starts to appear dim and blurred. Finally it starts to work OK. It is 2years old and taken about 1000 images.

It sounds like the camera either has a connection for the image that isn't the greatest or the control board needs some work. You could try removing the outer panel and taking a blow dryer to the internal parts but don't let it get too warm and see i ... Digital Cameras
