How to switch off the flash in Canon Power Shot A510

Answers :

In the take picture mode, press the button that has an image of the flash on it (the top of the circle) on the right, and keep pressing it until you've selected the image that shows the flash crossed out.
You can't do it in Auto mode, but you can in any of the other modes. Recommend Program "P" mode, which is almost Auto, but allows you to turn on/off flash, and change a few other items. Select P on your mode dial, the press the "lightning bolt" button on the back of your camera until the no-flash icon appears (lightning with a slash through it).\012
\012By the way, recommend playing with the P mode as it's great for taking low-light pictures without flash. But note that you may need to keep the camera extra steady to prevent blurred pictures. In very low-light conditions, the camera will sense this and open the shutter for a longer period to bring in more light. Any movement while the shutter is open will just create blur.

Canon A510 Powershot camera will not stay powered on when I turn it on in picture-review mode. It comes on for a second --> Canon screen flashes on -- and then shuts off. In picture-taking mode, it seems to be fine. It stays on. But if I switch to review mode, it turns off. I've changed the batteries. It was fine last time I used it, last week. I left it plugged into the PC for a few days, if that makes any difference.

These cameras have capacitors built into the circuitry. A capacitor holds a higher voltage so the camera will operate when in use. Some modes in these cameras do need a higher voltage to work. The capacitor for the review mode is weak and will need t ... Digital Cameras

I changed the batteries in my Power Shot A720 IS recently when the low battery warning flashed, and had taken only two photos when the warning flashed again. I turned off the camera, set the mode switch to shooting, turned the camera back on and was able to take two more photos before the low battery warning returned and prevented any more picture taking. I purchased and installed new batteries and f

I have a Canon Power Shot A720. Outdoor photos are beautiful. Indoor photos are always grainy/blurry...a lot of noise. I have tried the ISP feature but there are only two choices... 1. Auto or 2. High ISO Auto Either setting, the indoor photos are grainy. Further, there are times when my flash will not work. It won't work on Auto setting or when I try and "force flash" it. No flash and the photo will not allow a picture to even be taken. Any suggestions? Thanks

A Canon A570IS will power on and and everything works with external power (3.5-3.7V, 2A. 3rd party) but is dead with batteries (two fresh alkaline or NIMH AAs). I have used parts (from junk 570s) and have replaced the main board, button board, flexicable that includes on/off switch & shutter, leds, etc.. Again, lens, flash, storage, LCD, etc. work with external power, but not with batteries. I am at a loss. Any suggestions?

Since the external power works, we need to know, first off, if the battery terminals have continuity with the external power supply contacts. That will tell us an important part of this puzzle. The one hard thing about this problem, is that what ... Canon PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera
