Dropped camera in pool

\015 I dropped my camera in the pool for probably one second. It was off and I took out the batteries and memory card out as soon as possible and didn't turn it on yet. It's been about 6 hours, but I'm waiting 24 hours to try to turn it on again. What should I do? Is my camera okay?\015

Answers :

If it does not fire up, I would dunk it again - this time in warmed, distilled water, moving it around a bit, then putting it in a warm (not hot) place to dry but I would probably give it a week.

Dropped my camera in a pool of water in a glacier 12 months ago. I immediately took out the battery and memory card. I then spent 2 hours with a hair dryer drying the camera. Since then the camera has worked fine. This week end I "lost" the lens. I can review photo's on the screen but I get nothing in camera mode. Is it a lost cause or can it be saved?

There is no relation between the two incidents that you explained. The recent problem might have occurred due to damaging of the lens.
