\015\012it sounds crazy .

Remove the back (or Cover ) of the phone( or Camera ), battery, and SIM if your phone ( or Device ) uses one , DIRECTLY
\015\012.

Then, with a q-tip (or something similar), dab the connection points (shiny, goldish) on the battery, SIM, and phone. This should aid in drying.

Finally, place all contents in a bag of uncooked rice (separately, do not put back together just yet). it sounds crazy , but it draws the moisture out.

It normally is working after just 7-8 hours, but I would wait 12 hours or even 24 hours before attempting to use (just to be sure).

\015\012beware the water damage, despite being dry now, will void any warranties. Also, the phone's hardware is now weakened and if you drop it, the green mother board and circuitry could shatter - so be more careful.

This does work on electronic devices aside from phones as well. Simply tailor it to your device. If you do not have a SIM (Verizon phones, cameras, all others), remove only the battery. If you have an iPhone/iPod or GPS and cannot remove the battery, simply make sure it is all the way off, then put it in the rice bag. All electronic devices react the same to the rice trick.

Everything seems to be working but the shutter release button. It does nothing, even depressing the button halfway for metering shows nothing. no indicators in viewfinder info line. I assumed it was a third party Battery problem, as there was a Impact battery being used primarily at the time. However replacing the Battery with a pentax battery didn't change anything. Camera not dropped, or damaged in any way, its a sudden problem i cannot seem to troubleshoot.

My 450d canon won't turn on and when the battery is in, the WB button (second on the right side of the screen) is blue. I have a feeling this means' get it repaired' as I had a friend borrow it and said they spilt a drink near it but not on it, but this seems like they may have spilt the drink ON my camera and have caused some sort of water damage. I'm really quite worried as I'm often told repairs cost more than the camera is worth and I don't want to have to buy another!

I bought a power adapter for the camera, but it doesn't seem to work without batteries in the unit. If I use the batteries alone, I will eventually get a red blinking light at the back of the camera, indicating low battery power, hence the purchase of a power adapter. When using both power adapter and batteries, the red light on the front of the camera is illuminated. The green light on the back of the camera is blinking. The camera seems to work fine while recording video. But why won't th

I have a DSC H10 camera. Today I put it in a plastic with a water bottle that wasn't close tightly. It got wet and now I've taken out out the battery and the memory card. I let the water drain out, I wiped out the battery chamber. I turned it on a few hours after the damage was done and the screen is not very bright. Also, now I can't access my photos, but I could earlier. What do i do? Do I have to let it dry out for 24 hours before turning it on again? Do you think the damage is permanent?

Turning it on before it completely dries out usually causes a short circuit. It can take up to a week with your camera buried in a bowl of dry rice to dry out. However, since you turned it on, it may be too late but try it anyway. ... Digital Cameras

Canon PowerShot A495 - Brand new. Used it once and took 40 photos. It then told me to change the batteries which I did. From then on it keeps saying "change the batteries" I've used alkalines and also rechargeable NiMH, These are either new or fully recharged batteries and still I get the same message. I have also cleaned the terminals inside the camera and even those on the batteries themselves. No change. This is clearly not a battery problem. This is a camera problem and its seems I am not th

Ist issue: how do you get the battery out? I have been using a nail file to pry it out. 2nd issue: the charger blinks green and orange whether battery is inserted or not. Battery does not seem to charge. 3rd issue: I have camera plugged in by USB. The green power light comes on but that's it. The LCD screen doesn't light up, no other buttons seem to work. Where does my issue lie? Is it the battery, the charger or the camera?

1st- you shouldn't have to do this. Stop filing your nails and you will be able to pry the battery out with a fingernail.2cnd- I can't decide whether this is a bad battery or a fault with the charger. Either way, the battery won't charge, ... Polaroid T737 Digital Camera

Battery problem Kodak z712 uses different types of batteries and the one supplied with camera are non-rechargeable lithium type that die down soon. Camera specifications say one can use rechargeable lithium-ion, Klic-8000. Now while replacement klic-8000 are cheaply and abudantly available, is this appropriate to use them in this model? Some say the can leave the camera damaged. I need a solution because I am not getting the original kodak klic8000 in my city.

After submerging my DSC T7 under water with the use of the proper water casing Cyber-shot SPK-THA, the control buttons to the left of the viewing screen and the focus control on top started malfunctioning. I pulled out the battery and memory card and tilted the camera such that the opening for the battery slot is facing downward thinking that if water permeated the casing, it would dry out. It worked for a while but returned to the original problem. The menu button works though but I couldn't do

My Sony Cybershot Camera was dropped in water accidentally the other day. I have let it dry out as much as possible for 2 days. When I tried to use it, the camera still takes pics as it did before but it keeps saying "insert memory card" Anything more I can do? Is it worth trying it on with Sony as it's only 4 months old. ERROR C-2 I've had my KD-300Z for 5 years and it's been great - reliable, easy to use etc (apart from the poor battery life!) I recharged the battery, put in a nnew SD card and took it on holiday. This happens whichever function I switch on.The manual troubleshooting section only mentions ERROR-xx or ERROR-99. Any suggestions -please?

Battery life When I first had this camera, about 3 years ago, the rechargeable batteries I bought seemed to last for ages. But more recently the "low battery warning" has been coming on very shortly after inserting freshly charged batteries. I have tried using ordinary batteries (high powered) but even with these I can only take a few pictures before the warning light comes on. Once the light is on, the camera goes dead after a few more pictures so it's not giving me a false "low battery" warnin
