Canon A610 Lens problem

\015 Problem - there appears to be condensation or something similar on the inside of the lens which effects every picture taken. Is it difficult to dismantle the lens and clean? I contacted a camera repairer in Australia and they charge around $150 to repair. I could go looking for a new camera instead.Rick\015

Answers :

Unless you have prior experience dismantling a digital camera, it could be quite tricky.
HERE is a service manual that should help. Its not the A610, but they are similar.
If your camera has a plastic ring around the lens, then it should be quite simple. Use a jeweler's screwdriver and try to pry out the ring. Once that is done, it should be easy enough to remove the lens barrels.
However, like I said, if you are not too familiar with this, it is best that you get it done by a pro. If it costs too much, then try giving it a shot yourself (nothing to lose anyways), and if you should screw up, there is always the option of buying a new camera :)

I have a canon rebel xsi that is not taking pictures on auto focus. It will take pictures on manual focus, but they're blurry. I changed my lens to a bigger one to see if it was the lens or camera, and it's the camera. I had the same problem with the other lens. I've tried cleaning it & turning the lens focus ring but is still doing it. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.

I have owned a Canon G9 for a couple years. I dropped it back in May. Lens wouldn't retract. Did research - must get it fixed professionally. Instead of sending to CANON - I sent to Teleplan Digital Camera Repair (worthless hucksters) to save some money. STUPID! Horrible experience - just now received my camera back after them having it back and forth since June. After the fixed the initial problem I noticed having some focusing problems. Almost every picture wasn't focusing correctly. Not a

Having problems with my canon ixus860. When I turn the camera on, the lens can not protract in or out. It's says lens error on screen. Is this a common problem? I don't believe I have dropped this camera either.

My Canon Rebel XTi has repeatedly had the Err99 message pop up, and it's to the point that it happens, at minimum, every 4-5 shots I take. I've tried cleaning the camera and lens contacts multiple times, but the problem has gotten increasingly worse and refuses to be fixed. Won't Focus I have had my Canon Powershot SD1000 for about 9 months now. I have had problems with the lens error and it getting stuck but have always been able to get it to work eventually. I had another bout with the lens getting stuck, was able to get it unstuck but now it won't focus at all. Normally I press the shutter down half way to get it to focus on my subject, but now it simply won't focus. I'm wondering if maybe my settings are off, or if it's an internal problem. Any suggestions

I have a Canon Digital Rebel XT camera using a 75-300mm telephoto lens. My problem with the lens is that at times it is hard to adjust the focus either manually or automatically with the camera. I hear something rattling around inside the lens and at times the lens will not auto-focus and I have to remove the lens and manually twist it to get it back to some normal operation. Is this fixable or do I need a new lens?

Lens error I keep this Elph in a tiny, padded Halliburton case because the last TWO I bought ended up with broken screens. I never had a problem, though lightly used.
